Subtle Threats

Ember's POV

I was annoyed by Greg's stubbornness. I'd never seen someone so out of touch with reality but I made a decision that I wouldn't argue with him one bit. He needed someone to explain to him that he couldn't rule this pack.

Maybe we would have to wait for his sister, Elise, to talk to him. Anyway, it was their family and I was ready to leave it to them however they pleased.

I marched upstairs ignoring them completely. The headache had assaulted me again and I needed to rest. Taking a glance at my phone I discovered that it was almost eight p.m and I lay in bed slowly drifting into sleep.

At midnight, the rumbles of my stomach woke me up and I immediately rose from the bed. Dry mouthed, I didn't waste time going downstairs, I headed straight to the kitchen and retrieved a bottle of water from the fridge. After that, I turned to the door ignoring my rumbling stomach.
