Chapter 52:Rough Handling Ourselves

Magnus's pov

Never in my wildest dreams have I thought what was happening would happen. No wait, that was a lie. I specifically told the others to prepare for this. I told them we had spent too much time trying to prepare Selene and now they had proven me right.

A roar filled our ears and fear gripped all of our hearts.

I looked at Gabriel and I could hear the blood rushing through his veins at astounding speeds. I could hear his breath quicken and it was worse with Selene. They were afraid.

“What do we do?” I asked. I had no idea what the others might have in mind and I could not take control of the situation.

“Protect Selene,” Gabriel muttered. He turned to me and repeated the same words.

I nodded in response and looked down at the plains. They were too far away for me to see but I could discern their shapes. Goddess helped us, there were so many of them in front of us, and their numbers were shocking.

“How do we fight off these many?” I asked.
