Dante POV

I hated bullies.

They reminded me of my time in training camp when I was younger, smaller—but stronger. Strong enough to make them hate me for it. They hit me so badly I had broken a rib or two in the process and was left with a permanent scar at the back of my head.

“Who are your parents?” I asked in a cold voice that made their tiny limbs tremble.

The two older kids who had been so eager to push someone smaller now looked like they wanted to disappear.

“Uh…” The scrawny blond one gulped. “M-My dad’s one of the warriors—”

“We didn’t mean anything by it, Alpha,” the other, taller one cut in quickly.

I arched a brow. “Oh? You didn’t mean anything by dragging a kid half your size through the dirt?”

The blond boy opened his mouth, then shut it again.

“I don’t tolerate bullying in my pack.” My eyes darkened, and I shifted my gaze to the little boy being bullied.

“What’s your name?” I asked.

“Leo,” he answered softly.

“Leo.” I repeated, rolling the name on my tongue. “How would y

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 111

Amaya POV“What the hell…”“Why are you still alive?!” came Kara’s voice.I looked up and she was indeed there, holding a knife, her face twisted with pure rage.“You should have died! Why won’t you just die?!” she hissed.I quickly scrambled to my feet, and when she lunged again, I caught her wrist mid-swing.The metal was inches from my face and she was obviously stronger, but I wasn’t going to let her win this time.“Not tonight, bitch!” I growled, twisting her arm behind her back and slamming her face against a hard metal cabinet.Blood spurted from her nose and she stumbled backward.I had honestly expected her to visit. Kara was obsessed with me after all, but I didn’t think she’d be bold enough to make a move this soon. Her face was everywhere. She was a wanted criminal with a heavy bounty on her head — even in rogue territory. She should’ve been in hiding like she was before, too scared to even breathe in the same city. But here she was, staring at me like I was the root of ev

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 110

Amaya POV“What about Dante?”My question caught her off guard and she froze just for a second, then her eyes darted to the floor.“I…” she started, then sighed. “Amaya, you need to rest…”“No,” I cut her off, wincing as I pushed myself slightly up the bed. “Don’t do that… I can handle it. Just tell me.”I had prepared myself for the worst outcome, but even that didn’t stop my heart from racing. She hesitated again and I hated how she looked at me. Like I was already so broken and the truth would finish the job—but I wasn’t. I was perfectly capable of handling the truth.Still, Briella ignored my question. Her jaw tightened. “I’m going to call the doctor,” she said instead, standing up and heading toward the door.“Is he dead?” My voice remained calm, cutting through the room like a blade. She froze, her hand hovering over the doorknob. Slowly, she turned back to me, and her eyes widened like she couldn’t believe I had said it.“Amaya…”“Is he?” I urged, the panic already creeping int

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 109

Amaya POV I watched him slowly turn his head, and his eyes widened when they landed on me. I thought he would be excited like I was. His lips parted like he was about to say something, but he quickly looked away and started walking in the opposite direction. “Dante!” I called out, my voice shaking as I ran after him until he reached a corner, and I grabbed his hand to stop him. But he yanked it away like my touch had burned him, clutching his forehead as if he was in pain, refusing to look at me. “Well…” I said, stepping in front of him, blocking his path. “Don’t tell me you don’t feel it too.” My voice trembled. “Dante… you’re my…” “Don’t say it,” he cut me off, his voice hoarse. “I can’t be your mate… this… this has to be a mistake.” I blinked, stunned. Tears blurred my vision, feeling the weight of his words. “Why are you doing this to me?” I whispered, tears now streaming down my face. “You know I like you. You’ve always known. And now… now that you’re my mate, you’re stil

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 108

Amaya POV I didn’t know what came over me. As I watched Eli’s tiny frame disappear from view, my gaze shifted back to Dante, whose breathing had turned shallow. His eyes fluttered like he was slipping in and out of consciousness, and his limbs began to tremble, giving way under him. The beam shifted again, and my breathing became ragged. I still couldn’t move, help still hadn’t arrived, so I closed my eyes, accepting it. I prepared to be crushed beneath him, to die with him if that was what fate had decided. But my breathing didn’t slow down; if anything, it became even more frantic, like my body was rejecting this fate. Then the creaking of the metal stopped. I blinked and slowly opened my eyes, confused, only to find that everything around me was frozen in time. Everything except… me. What the hell was happening? I looked down at my trembling hands. My skin was glowing faintly with a soft golden light. “Did… did I do that?” I whispered, but I didn’t wait for an answer. I did

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 107

Amaya POV At this point, I was running out of strength. He pinned me down again, slamming my back against the ground so hard the air left my lungs. I coughed out, my ribs screaming in pain. Dante, who had been regaining his strength, saw me struggling and leapt forward, knocking Roland off me while I lay there gasping for air with dust swirling around me. Every part of my body screamed in protest, but I still shifted back to my human form and began crawling toward one of the fallen weapons. I wrapped my fingers around a silver sword Cyrus had dropped earlier. By now, Roland had Dante pinned beneath him, pressing his knee to his neck, trying to choke him to death. So I snuck up behind him and, using all my strength, I drove the sword down into the spot he had been guarding. He roared in pain, his body reared back, and in that second, he swung his paw. I didn’t have time to dodge. His strike sent me flying. My body slammed into a thick steel beam near the edge of the old po

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 106

Amaya POV Dante clenched his fists so tight, blood dripped from his palms. The same man who once fought beside him during the revolution, bleeding for the pack and protecting the borders… And now he stood before us, his true form exposed. His features were still the same — that strong jaw, the scar on his brow — but his eyes were no longer brown. They were black, like the reflection of a rotten soul. It took a moment for Roland to compose himself, but realizing he had been exposed, his smirk returned. I looked around and saw that the guards were frozen in place, shaking their heads in disbelief. Others reached for their weapons, but they were unsure what to do. “Roland!” Kara was the first to speak, stumbling backward, her voice barely above a whisper as her lips trembled. “But… you made me sleep with you… If I had known it was you, I wouldn’t have given my body for you to violate!” Her face twisted in confusion and disgust as she took more steps toward him. “How dare you

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 105

Amaya POV I remember his face. How could I forget? He was the man who almost pushed me into the light when I nearly crossed over to death. You recognize him too, don’t you, Nyx? I said in my head, and Nyx growled in response. “Does Alpha Kieran by any chance have a twin?” My question was directed at Asher, now standing next to me. He shook his head, staring at me weirdly, then looked back at the man and squinted his eyes. “I’m sure that’s Alpha Kieran… how would I mistake my Alpha?” he questioned confidently, but I was certain. “Why do you think that’s not him?” Dante, who had been quietly observing me, finally spoke. I didn’t look at him right away. My eyes remained locked on the man by the truck, on the monster wearing Alpha Kieran. Just as I was about to speak, a boy, maybe ten or eleven, who—unlike the others—was working freely in a different direction, paused mid-step. He turned his head slowly like something had whispered to him, and my eyes widened when our gazes

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 104

Amaya POV “There are kids in danger. If you kill her, we might not be able to save them,” I said, stepping forward. “How… how do you know this?” Dante asked, clearly struggling to hold himself back. You could see the flicker of red in his eyes as his wolf was resurfacing. “I saw them. They were all trapped in cells,” I said, my gaze shifting to Kara, who still had that stupid smile plastered on her face. “They’re really going to hurt them.” For a split second, the red in Dante’s eyes dulled, like he was grounding himself, like my words had reached him—but then Kara chuckled once again. The red reignited. His claws dug deeper into her skin and he growled, choking her without a second thought. Around us, her men growled in response, shifting like they were ready to pounce. One even stepped forward. Cyrus extended his claws, snarling, and Ryder followed. Another second passed before Dante suddenly released her, shoving her harshly, which sent her coughing and gasping ont

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 103

Dante POVIt wasn’t hard to break the code without triggering the spell. All I had to do was create an entirely different conversation, linking it indirectly to Amaya. Once again, Kara had underestimated me.The only thing I couldn’t figure out was who the spy was. Unfortunately, time wasn’t on my side to find out. That’s why the information was only revealed to a very small group—because right now, no one could be trusted.Using the tracker, we were able to pin down Amaya’s location, and just in time too. As we roamed the forest, doing our best to blend in after masking our scent, we heard the sound of a gunshot followed by yelling.“You’re bleeding,” I said, staring down at her stomach as the scent of blood filled my nose. My pupils dilated on instinct and the first thought that crossed my mind was that she was shot.“It’s nothing,” she muttered, quickly covering her stomach with her hand. But I wasn’t having it.I grabbed her wrist and pulled her hand away. “It’s not nothing.
