8. Moonlight

Carlen walked hurriedly into a room. There were no guards behind him. It was night, some of the vampires must have been in the human world, so it was safe for him to walk alone.

Carlen entered his workspace and was immediately greeted by Vander. "Your majesty." The crown prince of Hamakua Kingdom bowed his head respectfully.

"How's Vander?" asked Carlen with a serious expression on his face.

"Still Arva," Vander whispered. The context regarding the werewolf clan is very sensitive for the vampire clan. "Four days ago, I met Alpha Orlan and Beta Dafa."

Carlen breathed a sigh of relief. Still her. Carlen spoke to himself.

"You know, the Redwood Pack wouldn't be a traitor." Carlen took out a glass filled with animal blood which he had hidden in his robes. Vander's eyes bulged; he was shocked. Carlen inhaled the smell of animal blood in the glass. "He's a traitor." Carlen's red eyes flashed a sharp glare.

"So you already know, Your Majesty?" Vander tried to act normal; he wouldn't show his fear because he was caught covering up Ferin's crimes.

"Yes." Carlen glared at Vander, and Vander shuddered in horror. If Carlen is angry tonight, his life will not be saved.

Vander lowered his head; he didn't dare to look into Carlen's angry eyes.

"You have to help me," Carlen said, emphasizing every word.

Vander raised his head. He didn't believe it. Carlen wasn't mad at him, instead asking for his help?

Vander nodded his head. "What do I have to do?" Vander will become king of the Hamakua Kingdom. However, all vampires must remain subject to Carlen's orders. Because the Appalachia Kingdom has full control over the vampire clan whose magic portal is connected to the American continent.

"Watch him. Give all the animal blood he gave you and Noura to me. Don't drink. If you don't want to be caught in this case." Carlen spoke seriously. Vander nodded obediently.

"Listen to that, Crown Prince Ivander," said Noura with a crooked smile.

Vander was taken aback. He did not notice the presence of Noura, who had not known since she was leaning against the door. Maybe he was too tense for fear of being killed by Carlen.

"You told her?" Carlen looked at Noura sharply.

Noura nodded, and her lips smiled slightly. "Yeah, she asked where the witches were. I'm annoyed that the werewolf clan keeps accusing us. They always say that the vampire clan hides witches." Noura sat on the sofa with her legs crossed.

Carlen was surprised; why did Arva suddenly ask about the prophecy? Is the werewolf clan also looking for divination paper? Suspicious.

Vander frowned. What are they talking about? Witch? He hadn't heard of witches in a long time. "Witch?" Vander decided to ask.

"You seem very surprised. You have lived in this kingdom for a long time. Haven't you heard anything about witches?" Noura laughed lightly. Her voice sounded like she was mocking.

"That's an extra task for you, Crown Prince Vander. Find out Ferin's involvement with the witches." Carlen stared fixedly at Vander.

Vander nodded slowly. Now Vander's head felt like it was going to burst. He has many tasks. Find out about Ferin's involvement with the treacherous werewolf?; Find out the whereabouts of Ferin and his men?; Find out Ferin's involvement with the witches? Really, Ferin made him dizzy!

Noura smiled crookedly. "You are cruel, Your Majesty. Don’t give Vander so much work."

Carlen snorted.  “The palace soldiers will assist Vander, and I will continue searching for him.”

"Don't worry, Your Majesty. I will. I will bring accurate evidence to convict Ferin." Vander is optimistic. He was sure he would be able to carry out this task perfectly!

Noura gave a faint smile. She liked Vander's persistence, and it was fitting that Vander would be a king of the Hamakua Kingdom.

Carlen glanced at Noura's hand. "Who gave you a ring, or did you buy it?" Carlen noticed the black ring on Noura's finger.

Noura was surprised; she didn't expect Carlen to realize the existence of the ring she was wearing. "I bought it." Noura tried to be relaxed, although she was a little restless.

Carlen tilted his head. "That ring ... beautiful."

Vander saw the black ring. He frowned. Doesn't princess Noura ever want to wear accessories? Such as rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and so on.

Noura saw the ring Orlan gave her. The ring did not weaken her strength at all. Meaning that everything Orlan said was true. Then what about her who is Orlan's mate? Ah, Noura is not in the mood to think about it.

Carlen turned his gaze the other way. "Hopefully the ring will be of use to you."

Noura's eyebrows rose. What was the meaning of her big brother's words? Useful? Does Carlen know anything about the black ring?

"Beta Balthasar," Leon said. It surprised Dafa, and he almost dropped the book he was reading. "You make me surprised," Dafa protested.

Leon and Arva enter a dungeon that only certain werewolves can enter.

Dafa was sitting alone, waiting for Alpha to arrive and praying that there would be no problems, when Orlan met and talked to his mate, princess Noura.

"Alpha isn't home yet?" Arva's eyes traveled to the basement. This room is a library that contains books left by the werewolf clan ancestors. This room is under Alpha's workspace. Very confidential. Even only certain werewolves knew where this dungeon was.

"Not yet," said Dafa without turning his head. He was still busy reading the book in his hand while his free hand picked up the french fries on the table.

Leon sat himself down on a wooden chair. He recalled what Princess Noura had said about witches. Noura told Arva everything and let him hear. He was sure that Noura could easily manipulate his hearing so that he couldn't hear his conversation with Arva.

A real vampire can only do the ability to manipulate sound. Especially the descendants of Walton, who was the first vampire created; their abilities are very different from other vampires. There are many specials in the Walton vampire family, and don't forget the Carlton and Alfredo vampire families.

It turns out that Princess Noura secretly knows everything. Leon was sure that what Noura said was only part of the secret the vampire clan was hiding about witches. Noura said all that so that Arva would no longer ask. That was Leon's conclusion.

Arva is busy looking for books.

"Alpha takes too long." Dafa stretched his sore hands.

"Thank you, Dafa. During this time, you often take and pick up Arva at the cafe." Leon smiled sincerely at Dafa, who was sitting in front of him.

"My pleasure." Dafa went back to reading the book. He likes to be told to read. Especially when he reads about the werewolf clan, he gets even more excited. "Just thanks?" Dafa glanced at Leon, who was staring blankly at the books around him with a witty glint in his eyes.

Leon glanced sharply. "Oh, so you haven't been sincere all this time? Ask for something in return?" Leon raised his voice.

Dafa chuckled. It's easy to provoke Alpha Leon's emotions.

Arva snorted. She couldn't wait to tell her big brother and Dafa everything about the witches Noura had told her, but she had promised Noura. Currently, Leon is the only person to work with, but Leon's mood changes very quickly.

"Orlan, our mate, is already in the palace. She doesn't seem like the other vampires who come out at night. She's different, although she's a pure vampire from the Walton family." Jay shouted. Not knowing why he could sense his mate's presence.

Orlan focused on the road in front of him. Noura's beautiful face and a smile appeared in his mind. It was not in vain that he waited almost 400 years. Even if the mate is a vampire, he has to take many risks just to be with his mate. Orlan didn't care; he loved Noura. Whatever he will do. "Yeah, she's different, Jay. So different." Orlan smiled widely.

"Now you have to think, Orlan. How are we going to bring Princess Noura to pqck, and you must tell your parents immediately." Jay's voice echoed in his mind.

"You're so noisy. You think I wasn't thinking since yesterday?" Orlan was provoked by his emotions. Jay always makes him angry and emotional. Only when on the battlefield did they get along.

"You have to think. Don't waste time. I want to see her soon." Jay chartered again.

"You talkative!" Orlan broke his mind link with Jay. If he didn't decide first, Jay would keep talking, making his head spin.

Orlan opened the iron door leading to the underground. He descended the spiral staircase with a bit of a rush. "Already assembled." Orlan took a seat on the empty chair next to Dafa.

Dafa immediately put down the book he had been reading. He was so focused on reading that he didn't even notice the presence of the Alpha.

Leon looked at Orlan. Arva immediately ran to an empty seat, sitting between Leon and Dafa.

"What is it, Alpha Orlan?" Leon asked. This morning Orlan asked him to come to the basement with Arva.

"Do you know where Ferin is?" asked Orlan. He looked at Leon questioningly.

Leon glared. He didn't expect Orlan to ask about this. "Why did you suddenly ask about him?"

"The werewolf was found dead in the forest. From the marks, it's not because of the rogue; it must be because of something else," said Dafa.

Orlan took out three photos from under the suit he was wearing and gave them to Leon.

"The conclusion we get. Vampires killed them," said Arva.

Leon looked at the three horrible-looking photos.

"Sorry, I'm late," Devin said with a grin.

"You're taking too long." Dafa huffed in annoyance.

"I was taking care of the bodies that were being buried." Devin stood beside Orlan.

"I already told Princess Noura," said Arva casually.

Immediately, the four of them stared intently at Arva.

"You told her?" Dafa asked.

"It's still a secret." Devin shook his head.

"A habit," Orlan snapped.

"You told princess Noura, but not with me?" Leon snorted.

Arva chuckled. "I just told her. Who knows if she can help."

"Scary." Leon shuddered in horror. After being noticed, the three werewolf corpses were bulging in shock and red in color.

"You have to anticipate it, Alpha Leon. How about the problem with hunting for rare animals there, Alpha Leon? Was it a human or an immortal being?" asked Orlan. This problem never found common ground.

Leon shook his head. "We haven't found it yet. It looks like the actions of creatures immortal because there is no trace of human odor at all."

"Alpha, is it true that you have found your mate?" asked Devin enthusiastically.

Orlan looked at Devin and tilted his head. "You know from whom?"

"Dafa." Devin pointed at Dafa.

Dafa glared. "Hey, you were the one who overheard my conversation with Arva. So I had to explain everything to Devin." Dafa didn't accept it.

Orlan rolled his eyes lazily. Why does everyone like gossip?

"I will arrange a schedule to visit Tongass Pack," said Orlan. Leon nodded. Orlan glanced at Dafa, who was waiting for orders.

"Ready, Alpha. I'll arrange the schedule." Dafa is excited.

"Devin, maybe I'll ask you for help later." Orlan turned to Devin, who had been standing beside him.

"I'm ready, Alpha. I'll be ready any time." Devin smiled widely.

"Then how am I?" asked Arva. She also wanted to get orders.

"Stay by Noura's side," Orlan replied, a smile flashed across his face remembering Noura.

"Okay." Arva smiled happily.
