Chapter 20: The Escape

Luna turned red when Simon looked at her. She felt that background music surrounded them, and many camera operators circled them. Luna usually watches this on film shoots when they’re the watchers. She felt that everything had stopped; it was just Simon and her. Luna’s heartbeat beats faster. It differed from how everything started when she first fell in love with her fellow policeman. She and Simon become acquainted by hating one another.

A ball hit Simon’s head, and they both turned to themselves. Luna giggled.

“I’m sorry!”

Simon and Luna looked at the boy together. Luna avoided focusing her eyes on Simon.

Simon frowned and looked at the young man. “Kid, take care the next time you interrupt the moment,” Simon yelled at the boy.

And when the boy was gone, Simon looked at Luna again. She was seated on a bench not far from there, and I approached her at once.

Simon smiles at her while sitting near her. “Here.” Simon held out the loaf to Luna. She seemed surprised.
