MasukAdolphus’s P.O.V. (Continued)
“We are back home, Adolphus. We are back home.” Nathan yelled excitedly, gripping my hand in a tight grip. I frowned and glared at him as his yelling almost burst my eardrums, and he dug his nails in my skin. “I can see.” I grumbled and yanked my hand out of his grip. He was now practically dancing on his seat. I was happy too. I opened the window and got my head out of the window. I closed my eyes and inhaled sharply. The familiar smell of home filled my nostrils immediately. No matter how far you go. No matter how much better that far place is. No place is like home. “I am home,” I whispered, slowly opening my eyes. Although it was already night and, apart from streetlights, there was no source of light to illuminate the surroundings, I still see the familiar surroundings. There were some changes here, but it was still a part of the past, which was familiar to me. My smile widened, feeling the night air on my face. Winter was approaching and the night air had some chill, but it was refreshing and welcoming. “I am dying to meet them. Can’t you drive a little faster.” Nathan yelled at the driver, getting impatient but I didn’t mind him. I also wanted to meet my family as quickly as possible. I was the only pup of my parents, their prince. Dad is strict but Mom loved to pamper me the most. I never complained about Dad’s strictness after I understood what the responsibilities of an alpha towards his pack are. I am the future alpha, and of course, I can’t be willful every time. Surely, I enjoyed my mother’s pampering, but I never dared to go overboard with that or be arrogant just because I am an alpha’s son. So, yes… I love both my parents from the bottom of my heart, and after years of separation, the longing wasn’t just a longing to see my parents anymore. Nathan’s excitement was contagious because now I was also feeling homesick. Suddenly Onyx shot up on his feet and started pacing anxiously at the back of my mind, giving me a headache. “What now, Onyx?” I grumbled and closed my eyes again, feeling the coldness of the night air on my face, trying to stay calm when my wolf was now a bundle of anxiety. “I don’t know, Adolphus, but something big is going to happen tonight. I can feel that.” he replied to me anxiously and an alarm went off in my head. “Dad,” I immediately mind-linked my father as I was now inside the pack territory. “O Goddess, Adolphus! You can’t imagine how happy I am to hear your voice again.” Dad beamed through mind-link. “Dad…. ask everyone to stay alert tonight. Call the border security and instruct them to check the premises. Onyx is having a bad feeling about tonight.” I warned him hurriedly, ignoring his enthusiasm. “Relax, son. Everything is okay. The border security is high alert tonight. Even if rogues are known for their recklessness, they are not dumb enough to jump in the fire knowingly.” Dad comforted me, but Onyx’s anxiety was now escalating. “Still, ask them to check the premises one more time, Dad.” I still requested him worriedly. Tonight, the pack had organized a welcome party for me and Nathan. I don’t want to take any risk with the pack’s safety during the party. “Okay…I am contacting them right away. Just relax, and ask Onyx not to be anxious. Everything is okay and under control,” Dad still comforted me and Onyx in a calm voice. “What happened? Why are you looking so anxious?” Nathan asked me worriedly. I was still looking outside. We crossed the border fifteen minutes ago and were about to reach the party venue. “I don’t know, Onyx is anxious. He said th.. that something big is going to happen tonight.” I replied to him with a troubled expression on my face. “What? B…. But Neil is calm. He didn’t feel anything like that.” He sounded confused and alert, but his statement only made me more worried. Neil, his wolf, was a capable wolf, and he could sense danger better than Onyx. If he is calm, then why is Onyx so anxious? “Onyx… do I need to go to the hospital first?” I asked him worriedly. “What do you mean by going to the hospital first? I am not sick.” Onyx growled at me, glaring hard once again. “But you said that you are feeling anxious.” I argued and he growled at me. “Go to the party,” he muttered angrily and blocked me off. I was now completely annoyed by him. His anxiety was making me anxious too, but he refused to tell me the reason. Forget it. I would be better after meeting my parents, and Maddie, I would feel better if it’s not about rogues and any attack tonight. Still, I was worried about the safety of the pack. My ears perked up when I heard faint blasting music. coming from afar. "We are about to reach." The driver informed us but I was already grinning from ear to ear. My hart was now drumming hard against my ribcage in excitement and anticipation. Onyx also howled aloud in excitement, hopping on his limbs in excitement. We wre about to reach. Finally, we would be able to see our parents. "But I am excited to meet Maddie." Onyx chirped, making me laugh. Soon, the faint sounds of beats started clearing and loud. I smiled widely when I saw the banner floating high in the air, welcoming both me and Nathan. "I am sure that it's Maddie's work. Only she can think something childish like this." Nathan muttered annoyingly, but I laughed while admiring the banner. It had simply my and Nathan's name with WELCOME HOME written boldly in the middle of the banner. But this wasn't childish. She put our young pics on the top of our names and the embarrassing part was that both I and Nathan were crying with eyes closed and mouth hung up widely. The music stopped when we reached the venue. My heart thudded hard against my ribcage when I saw my parents standing right at the entrance with a large bouquet of flowers. The car stopped and I almost jumped out of the car. "Mom." I yelled excitedly, and she grinned from ear to ear, but I saw tears in her eyes. "My son," she whispered in a shaky voice, coming towards me, her hands spread widely. I laughed while walking towards her and scooped her up while wrapping my hands around her torso as soon as we came closer. She squealed aloud and laughed when I twirled while holding her higher. I spun a few more times, making her squeal more, but she had now cupped my face while looking at me with a tearful gaze. “I am home, Mom.” I murmured, overwhelmed by my emotions. “You are home,” she murmured, choking on her voice as tears spilled from her eyes. I frowned and slowly put her down. “You are crying,” I remarked in confusion. She hit my chest playfully and laughed while spilling tears. “These are happy tears, stupid,” she replied with a wide smile, her hands resting on my chest. “But they are still tears,” I remarked and she laughed and leaned on me. Her motherly presence gave me this absent feeling of home. “I am here too.” I heard Dad grumbling behind me, which only made me smile, and I looked at him. I was about to say something to him when an alluring sweet scent hit my nostrils, making me inhale sharply. Onyx howled aloud in delight at the same time.Lisa’s P.O.V. (Continued)“What did I do?” I asked him confusingly while leaning back lazily. His face twisted in anger, which confused me more, as I really had no idea why he was angry.“They know, you stupid woman. No one except you and me could know what happened between us back then. How did they know?” He roared aloud, and I froze.I just blinked, and he continued shooting daggers at me through his eyes. He fished his phone out of his pocket hastily and threw it at me.The phone almost hit my face, but I caught it before it could hit my nose. This wasn’t the first time that Raymond was this aggressive. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he wanted his hand on me. It wouldn’t be the first time.I looked at the screen and held my breath in fear.Cassius sent a message to him a few minutes ago. I read the message with a furiously beating heart. How could he know what I and Raymond did back then? Whatever happened between me and Raymond was only between us. Not a single soul knew about that
Angel’s P.O.V. (Continued)“They are my friends, love. You are right. All of them are alphas by blood, and a few of them are future alphas. I called them there for backup, as I had a hunch that something wrong could happen there. I am still grateful to them that they were there.” He replied to me with a faint smile, but I was still sure that he wasn’t telling me everything.“And about that alpha healer, you are right. I should talk to him and stop him from using his healing abilities in front of others.” He added it with the same faint smile on his lips.I nodded in response and started walking again. I had enough in my plate. I knew that he would never do anything to hurt me or the pack. So, I decided not to dwell on this matter. He kept me in his side embrace as we walked our way to the pack house where our offices were.“If the war happens, will they and their pack be a help to us?” I asked him calmly, breaking the silence between us, which, I don’t know why, rubbed me the wrong wa
Angel’s P.O.V. (Continued)“You are right. We need to talk to Uncle Sebastian. He is now a key person in the whole situation.” Nathan spoke after me in a serious tone.“Right. Let’s call him here. It has been days since I saw him.” Winter requested while looking at Nathan with a puppy look on her face.I lowered my eyes and glanced at Adolphus, who also looked at me at the same time.“We should go now. We still need to talk to Sylvester.” Adolphus suggested in a low voice.“Sylvester? Why do you need to talk to him?” Nathan asked in a raised voice.“He asked for a conference call.” I told him and slowly stood up from the chair where I had been sitting all the time.“You don’t need to talk to him. He can’t be trusted,” Nahan instructed angrily.“You are right, Nathan. In the present circumstances, and also his relationship with Lisa and Raymond, but I still have a few things to clear with him. When Angel was accused of attacking Lisa at that time, he dealt with the situation fairly. He
Angel’s P.O.V.“I know that my pack has something mysterious inside it, but I really don’t know what that thing is. When Sebastian saved me, my father was dying. So, if you want any information on this, I am sure that Sebastian knows better than me,” Winter answered me honestly, but I could hear her emotional turmoil.“Relax, my love. Everything will be okay. We are going to revive your pack too. So, we must know everything. Let’s not talk about the engineering skills, but their skills in genetic engineering? We have been dealing with hybrids for a long time. What if someone took advantage of their knowledge and killed the whole pack to hide this secret?” Nathan comforted her, but he didn’t sugarcoat anything.“You are right, Nathan, and I also understand the severity of this matter. Converting a human into a vampire is not that tough. A vampire needs to bite a human, and then the human goes through the transformation if he succeeds in surviving the bite. But werewolves?” Winter took
Adolphus’ P.O.V. (Continued)“After learning what she did back then, if you say that she was behind that attack on herself to frame Angel, I will believe you.” Mom remarked angrily. She was restless. Dad immediately wrapped his hand around her shoulder from behind.“Calm down, Mom, Mom Rita. This is not the time to lose our temper.” I asked them calmly, and both of them glared at me.My body trembled a little, and I looked at them while blinking innocently.“Adolphus is right, Mom. Losing our temper will only hurt her. The first thing that we need to know is who else is helping her. Lisa is not powerful enough to do everything on her own. I understand her grudge against Mom Ava, but why would Raymond help her or help anyone else who wants to destroy our packs when he knows very well that we are his and Sylvester’s strongest ally?” Angel spoke to them in a serious tone, and I also nodded in agreement.“Don’t forget that Adolphus and Nathan are also the strongest competitors.” Dad remin
Adolphus’s P.O.V.“Where is Angel?” Dad asked me with a concerned look when I sat down on the chair beside the dining table. Mom and Dad decided to have breakfast together at my place. That’s why they were here early in the morning.“She is sleeping,” I replied to him casually and grinned when Mom put a big glass of warm milk in front of me. I always had milk in the morning instead of any form of caffeine.“Let her sleep as much as she wants to. The girl went through so much.” Mom spoke calmly while taking her seat beside Dad on the other side.“Did you get any update on Graham’s condition?” I asked him while taking a sandwich from the serving plate.“Yeah. He found his mate.” He replied to me, and I almost choked on the food in my mouth.I raised my brows in surprise while coughing a little. “What? When?” I still managed to ask him, surprised evident in my tone.“She was among the members in those buses. They all had masked their scents to save themselves from any rogue attack during
