LOGINKenna smoothed the front of her gown and studied herself in the mirror.
She turned slightly, admiring the way the silk hugged her waist before lifting her chin.
“Are you sure one of these is enough?” she asked, eyeing the small crystal vial in Diya’s hand.
The liquid inside shimmered faintly.
“More than enough, My Lady,” Diya whispered. “It’s an ancient dragon-grade aphrodisiac. Pure potency. Once Lord Killian drinks it, he won’t be able to think straight. He’ll be utterly consumed by you.”
Kenna’s lips curled in a smile as she touched the massive diamond ring on her finger, admiring how perfectly it looked against her skin.
She had always known she was beautiful.
Her golden hair spun like sunlight was enough to make people stare. She was stunning enough to make noblemen forget their manners. And definitely beautiful enough to belong beside a king.
And soon, she would be a queen.
The thought sent a thrill through her.
“Queen,” she whispered, tasting the word.
It sounded even better than she had imagined.
Her gaze drifted toward the velvet-lined boxes scattered across her vanity. Jewels. Land deeds. Political promises. Gifts Killian had sent to secure her family’s allegiance.
Diya carefully set the vial down on the glass tabletop, studying her lady. “Honestly, Lady Kenna, you do not even need it. Lord Killian is already yours. The formal wedding will be completed within the month.”
Kenna’s smile vanished instantly.
“What do you know, silly maid? You better keep your mouth shut!” she snapped.
Diya instantly grew pale, flinching as if struck.
Kenna turned back to her reflection, her heart thumping with cold ambition. She had spent years playing the patient, perfect noblewoman while Queen Solia held the throne. She hadn't expected Solia to die so conveniently, nor had she expected Killian to claim the crown with such ruthless speed. Now, she wasn't going to sit around and meekly hope Killian would spill his seed inside her to bear the royal heir. A royal bride without a blood successor was easily replaced, but the mother of the next Dragon King held power forever. Besides, she'd paid a fortune for the potion. It would be a crime to waste it.
“I’ve waited long enough,” she muttered, her eyes dark.
Diya hesitated, wringing her hands nervously. “My Lady, if you anger Lord Killi—”
“What difference does it make? We are getting married anyway.”
She picked up the vial of glowing liquid and began to head for the door, then she paused, a sudden thought striking her. "How is our little captive? Is he dead yet?"
Diya reported to Kenna about Killian’s orders for the prisoner. The evening’s planned entertainment.
Kenna burst into a sudden laugh, she'd been furious that that little crow was still alive but Killian's punishment sounded better. "A male? Bred?" She shook her head, thoroughly amused. "God, Killian’s temper is terrifying. I'd almost pay to watch that circus tonight."
Then again... If Killian is busy marking her and putting an heir inside her belly, she won't have time for side shows, Kenna thought smugly.
The grand ballroom was deafening—a sea of tailored tuxedos, silks, and expensive perfume. This was not just an engagement party, it was mostly about business and Killian maintaining connections.
Kenna accepted two glasses of champagne from a passing waiter.Scanning the room, she spotted Killian standing near the archway, surrounded by the old blood lords of Noctis.
Kenna waited until the lords finally dispersed, leaving Killian standing alone.
This was her moment.
She glided forward, but before she could take three steps, a shadow blocked her path.
Ciel Basti appeared out of nowhere—Killian’s second-in-command— his eyes were as blank as a tombstone as he blocked her path.
"Lord Killian is remaining sober tonight, Lady Kenna," Ciel said.
Kenna’s smile faltered. A wave of pure irritation surged through her. The second she was queen, she would definitely have this rigid dog reassigned.
"I am simply offering a toast to my fiancé," Kenna said, keeping her tone light and sweet, though her eyes flashed. "It is our engagement night, Ciel. Isn’t it a little disrespectful to keep stepping between a woman and her future husband?”
Ciel bowed his head slightly. "My apologies, My Lady. It is not my intention to offend.” Then, with the same irritating, stone-cold calm, he added, “If it pleases you, I can drink the champagne on Lord Killian’s behalf."
Kenna’s blood boiled. Drink it? If this brainless statue drank her thousand-gold potion, she’d have to kill him herself.
"Is there a problem here?"
Killian’s deep voice cut through the tension. He stepped beside Ciel, his imposing presence immediately changing the atmosphere.
Kenna’s irritation vanished.
She instantly softened her expression, letting her lower lip pout "Killian, darling... I only wanted to share a drink with you to celebrate. But your shadow here acts as if I’m trying to poison you." She gave Ciel a cold, patronizing look. "He’s being terribly dramatic."
Killian didn’t soften, "Ciel is doing his job. There are too many important guest tonight, Kenna. I need my head clear."
"Just one glass?" Kenna pressed, stepping into his space, holding out the crystal flute with her best, persuasive smile. "For us? To celebrate the future of our empire?"
Killian stared down at the bubbling liquid in the glass. A sharp, annoyed breath escaped his nose. "Fine."
He took the flute and drained the entire glass in a single gulp. He handed the empty crystal back to a waiter and turned on his heel.
Kenna kept her eyes on him the whole time. How long does it take? Ten minutes? Fifteen? She smiled into her own glass, taking a slow, triumphant sip.
Meanwhile, at the Royal Mall’s most exclusive bridal boutique, Lady Kenna Aldrone stood on a velvet pedestal, staring at her reflection in a floor-to-ceiling gilded mirror. Her wedding gown was a masterpiece—woven from imported silver silk, encrusted with hundreds of crushed diamonds that caught the light with every breath she took. It had to be perfect. The jewelry, the dress, the venue—everything had to be the most talked-about spectacle in the history of the realm."Oh, Kenna, it's absolutely breathtaking!" gushed Lady Amber, sitting on a plush satin sofa while sipping champagne. "Lord Killian truly spares no expense for you. You are going to be the most envied woman in the entire kingdom.""Of course he doesn't," Kenna replied smugly, "He is the King, and I am to be his Queen. Anything less than perfection would be an insult to the Veyr name.""Still," whispered Lady Vivienne, leaning in with a gossipy smirk. "I heard he didn't even bother showing up for your ring fitting. A bit co
Killian drew slowly on his tobacco, the ember glowing between his fingers before he let the smoke spill from his mouth into the dark dungeon. He turned the blade in his other hand.Once.Twice.The tip kissed his thumb. A bead of blood welled beneath the silver edge, he glanced at it, almost absently.Across the dungeon, Luken stirred awake. Again. Iron groaned and chains rattled. The physician hung from the manacles with his bare feet barely touching the blood-slick cobblestones. His shirt clung to him in torn strips, exposing bruised ribs and purpled skin. Blood had dried beneath his nose and along his split lip, but his eyes remained stubbornly clear.Killian disliked that. Not because Luken was defiant, rather, it was because Killian could read the man’s mind with sickening clarity. He knew the exact thought occupying the doctor's pathetic head.Rosen.The very instant Luken had regained consciousness earlier, that had been the first name rasped from his broken mouth.‘How is he?
Every trace of color drained from Rosen’s face.Luken.Killian glanced down at Rosen — at the way the blood had left his cheeks, the way his body had gone rigid on his thigh, the way those blue eyes had filled with a panic that had nothing to do with Killian and everything to do with the man at the gate.Killian smiled sinisterly. "How thoughtful of him. Luken is saving me the trouble of hunting him down myself."Panic surged through Rosen like an electric shock. He jolted, trying to scramble off Killian's lap to stand up. "No!"Killian's arm clamped around his waist like a vice, pinning him firmly in place. "Where do you think you're going?""Please!" Rosen cried, turning around on Killian's lap. "Please, L-Lord Killian! Don't hurt him. He didn't do anything wrong. Please!"Killian stared at him, his smile instantly vanishing, replaced by a dark rage. He leaned down, pressing a cold kiss against Rosen's nape."The more you beg for him," Killian hissed into his skin, "the slower and mo
The castle was even grander and more intimidating than Rosen remembered from his blurred arrival. Massive stone arches, towering stained-glass windows and cold marble corridors stretched out endlessly. As they walked, several guards and servant maids bowed deeply, keeping their eyes glued to the floor. They arrived at the grand dining hall, where a lavish breakfast spread had already been arranged on a long mahogany table.Killian walked to the head of the table and sat down in a high-backed carved chair. Sunlight poured through tall windows. Everything looked civilized and beautiful, completely at odds with the monster who sat down at the head of the table. Then, looking up at Rosen, Killian patted his broad, muscular thigh.Rosen stiffened. He glanced around the room nervously. There were at least half a dozen maids standing along the perimeter wall, and two armed guards posted near the double doors. Everyone was watching.Did Killian want him to sit on his thigh like a trained pet
Without another word, Killian pulled a small key from his pocket and unlocked the iron clasp around Rosen's ankle. Before Rosen could even attempt to swing his legs off the bed, Killian scooped him up into his arms in one effortless motion— one arm under his knees, one behind his back — as if Rosen weighed nothing. As if he were picking up a cat, or something else small and unwilling.Rosen panicked, flailing and striking at Killian's broad chest. "Put me down! Let me go!"Killian didn't even flinch. The sheer gap in their physical strength was terrifying. Rosen’s frantic strikes felt like nothing more than a breeze against his iron muscles. Realizing how utterly futile his struggles were, Rosen eventually slacked in Killian's arms, panting heavily, exhausted and humiliated.Killian carried him straight into the adjoining luxury bathroom, stepping onto the warm marble floor. As Killian set him down near the edge of a massive stone tub, Rosen caught a glimpse of himself in the floor-t
"Wake up, little bird. You don't get to sleep while I'm inside you.""Killian, haven't you done enough?" Rosen choked out. "Let me go—mmmph!"A rough palm slammed down over his face, pressing his cheek flat into the bed, smothering his desperate gasps."Little bird. When are you going to learn?" Killian purred. "You begged me to breed you. Cried for my knot. Spread your legs and moaned my name so loud the entire castle heard you."Killian’s grip tightened, turning Rosen’s face slightly so he could drink in Rosen’s tear-stained profile. "Now you want me to stop? Which one is the real you, hmm? The one who cries for mercy—or the one who begs for my cock?""Mercy. No n-no more!" Rosen cried."Would you look at that?" Killian laughed. Without a second of hesitation, he slammed his hips forward.Rosen shrieked as the monstrous length rammed straight into his deepest, most sensitive spot."Does a murderer get mercy? You think you deserve it? You're not bred yet," Killian whispered, "Remembe
