Chapter 3

The day before the wedding, Seville asked me out. He took me to Moonlight Lake, deep within the Silverwind territory.

Standing by the water, he called my name. This time, his voice was gentle, not the heartbroken roar I had heard just before my death in my previous life. Then, he dropped to one knee. In his hand was an open velvet box, and inside, a diamond ring sparkled under the moonlight.

“Miss Lily, even though our marriage began as a political alliance, I believe you deserve a proposal.” Seville looked straight into my eyes, his expression solemn and sincere as he asked, “Will you marry me?”

I blinked, then broke into a bright smile and held out my hand.

“Of course.”

As he slid the ring onto my finger, I felt the faint tremble in his hand. I reached out and held his fingers before rising on my toes and kissing the corner of his lips, triggering something deep within my soul. The Alpha of the Silverwind pack turned red in the ears.

I returned home that day with a smile still lingering on my face. Ever since being with him, I felt much happier. Sara, on the other hand, stared daggers at the ring on my hand. Then, she turned and went to find Blake. When she came back later, her body was covered in fresh marks. She held up a gemstone bracelet and flaunted it in front of me.

“This was left to Blake by his grandmother,” she said proudly. “It’s a family heirloom!”

Then, she smirked at my ring. “You can’t compare something like that to some cheap ring bought at a random shop.”

I ignored her completely and focused on preparing for my own wedding. Sarah and I would be holding our ceremonies on the same day.

True to his word, Seville arrived to pick me up in a crystal pumpkin carriage. Wearing my pearl wedding gown, I took his hand as he escorted me into the chapel. Inside, the decorations shimmered like an entire galaxy.

Not many members of the Silverwind pack were present, but every one of them greeted me with warm smiles. They truly welcomed me.

Seville brushed my hair aside and gently kissed the back of my neck. Leaning close, he whispered in my ear.

“It might hurt a little, but it’ll be quick. Don’t be afraid.”

A sharp sting followed. Then, a warm current flowed from the back of my neck and spread throughout my entire body, signaling that he had marked me. Deep within my soul, it felt as if another wolf had gently licked mine. However, perhaps because the mark was still fresh, I couldn’t clearly see the color of that wolf spirit.

Seville took my hand and announced to everyone that I was his fated mate, the Luna of the Silverwind pack.

While everyone offered their blessings, Seville held me tightly and murmured into my ear, “My Lily, you were always meant to be mine… and I am yours. Our souls are bound together. We’ll never be separated.”

A sharp, murderous gaze suddenly stabbed into my back. I didn’t even need to turn around to know it was Sarah.

After the ceremony, I stepped outside the chapel and heard voices arguing in a corner. It was Sarah and Blake, or rather, Sarah was complaining while Blake barely responded. She was grumbling that so many members of the Black Fang pack had attended, yet none of them were smiling. Instead of a wedding, it felt more like a funeral. Then, she complained that Blake’s marking bite had hurt too much and that he was being cold and distant toward her.

Blake let out a mocking laugh and yanked the hem of her dress.

“Cold? Like this?” He slapped from behind and ordered coldly, “Turn around.”

Sarah bit her lip, looking aggrieved, but she still obediently turned around and lifted her hips. I didn’t watch any longer. I walked away from that suffocating scene.

Night soon fell. I sat on the bed in our new bedroom, clutching the hem of my nightgown tightly in my hands. Across the room, Seville removed his clothes, his muscles bulging from beneath his skin.

He pulled me into his arms, his lips brushing against my ear as he whispered, “Are you nervous? Don’t be afraid.”

He licked my earlobe, then drew it into his mouth and gently nibbled. The sudden sensation made my whole body tense. With Seville’s broad chest pressed against my back, his scent enveloped me whole, and as heat slowly spread through my body, I gulped.

His large hand was cupping my soft bosoms, stroking them gently. Leaning against his shoulder, I gasped softly as two long fingers had already slipped between my legs. When my hand reached back, it brushed against something hard and burning hot.

I gritted my teeth, telling myself that this would happen sooner or later anyway. Forcing a smile, I lifted my skirt and moved to sit on him. However, Seville stopped me.

“Baby, don’t rush. You’re not ready yet.”

With ease, he lay me down on the bed. His sharp nose brushed against my mound as his tongue slid inside me, licking again and again. Only when I could no longer bear it, my fingers instinctively gripping his hair tightly, did he finally lift his head and kiss me. While his lips and tongue completely captured my senses, he slowly pushed himself deep inside my body.

I didn’t wake until noon the next day. An older maid helped me with my hair, and as we chatted, I learned that she had worked for Seville’s family since she was young, caring for three generations of Silverwind Alphas.

Her warm hands gently smoothed through my hair, her voice filled with pride. “To marry you, he gave your father an entire moonstone mine.”

I froze, shocked that Seville had paid such an enormous price for me, yet he had never mentioned a single word of it to me.

I ran out of the room, eager to find my fated mate and kiss him. However, when I found Seville, his expression was grave. He told me that Blake had just made an announcement. He claimed he had received a revelation from the Moon Goddess. According to the prophecy, as long as he produced an heir, he would awaken the Black Wolf bloodline within him.
