“Are you sure he’s here, Miss?”

Loud voices filled the ears of the woman who had just entered a place that she thought was foreign. The smell of alcohol continued to pierce her nose, the loud voices of drunkards, gamblers, even the moans of pleasure from prostitutes mixed together in her ears.

The woman swallowed hard, clutching her hands. She gathered the courage to step in. But before that, a pat on the shoulder managed to make the gray-eyed woman turn her head.

“What are you doing here?”

A man with a cigar between his fingers reprimanded her, then the man grinned.

“Shouldn’t I be the one asking you, Miller? Why are you here?”

The woman’s voice trembled, her throat aching from holding back the sobs she had been holding back. She looked at the man in front of her intently. The man had made his entire family anxious and blamed her for everything all day.

The man smirked.

“You don’t need to know.” He told.

The man named Miller roughly pushed away the woman’s hand.

“Did you drink?” the woman asked, the strong smell of alcohol hitting her nose.

“I guess drinking is normal.”

“But you were driving, weren’t you?”

Miller turned his body. Until then a woman came, embraced Miller’s body and kissed Miller’s lips right in front of the woman’s eyes.

“Who is this woman, babe?”

Miller smiled wryly. “She is my fiancée, we will be married next week. It’s just that … I don’t love her.”

“Is she the woman who was betrothed to you since you were little?”

“Yes.”

The woman who was wearing sexy clothes walked towards the woman who had been standing there frozen, a servant firmly stood between the two as the woman in sexy clothes approached.

Maria’s tears could no longer be held back, they just flowed down her cheeks, then Maria looked straight out the windshield again.

If only she wasn’t an orphan who the Barnet family took in, if only she didn’t have to repay them for everything the Barnet family had done. She wouldn’t want to do all this. Loving a man who never loved her was a truly suffocating thing.

And suddenly, the car became uncontrollable. Maria looked at Miller with a panicked look. The man looked like he was having a seizure with a pale face, then he kept pressing his chest which was in pain.

“Medicine, I need my medicine!” he shouted in a hoarse voice.

Maria panicked. “What kind of medicine do you mean, Miller?”

“My medicine!” Miller shouted.

Maria, who felt panicked, tried to find the medicine that Miller meant, from the gaps in the car dashboard and so on. Until finally Maria’s hand felt, caught something that managed to make Maria stunned when she reached into Miller’s pants pocket. She saw some drugs like meth and opium were in his pants pocket.

Maria’s hands were shaking. She could hardly believe that the man who had always been considered by her family and even Maria herself as a good man, on the straight path, always behaving healthily, not deviating, as the pride of the Barnet family even at every party, Miller would be the most proud icon of the Barnet family. How could overnight all the perfect assessments of an heir to the Barnet family business empire change completely like this? Maria really did not expect something like this to happen.

“Give it to me, damn it!” Miller snapped.

Maria was still reluctant to give the drug to Miller, she looked at Miller with an annoyed look.

“Explain to me what this is, Miller? Are you abusing drugs?”

The car speed was getting faster and completely uncontrollable. Maria realized that all of this could not be avoided anymore.

“Miller, be careful!” Maria shouted, when both of them were already at a point where the vehicle speed had even exceeded 100km/hour.
