**Elena**

“How are you enjoying the party?” Logan asked, handing me a glass of red wine.

I took it, swirling the deep red liquid before taking a sip.

The warmth of it slid down my throat, but my eyes stayed on him. “Well… it would’ve been better if I’d been part of your conversation earlier,” I said, teasing.

He leaned closer, brushing his fingers against my lips for a moment…

Just a quick touch, soft, lingering enough to wipe off the wine I hadn’t even realized was there. “The conversation wouldn’t have interested you,” he murmured.

I rolled my eyes, smirking. “What, you think I can’t handle a little scandal? Don’t judge a book by its cover.”

A slow, knowing smirk curved his lips. “There’s nothing serious you need to know about Joy. And…”

He held my hands, warm. “…I promised I’d explain everything later, didn’t I?” He tilted his head, his eyes locked on mine.

I nodded slightly, using my free hand to adjust his tie, tugging it gently to straighten it.

**Xavier**“You asked to see me, Your Majesty?” she bowed her head.I glanced at her, just a quick look, then back at the window. City lights blinked, but it still didn't make me feel at ease.“I haven’t really spoken since the incident. And I should…you were close to my wife,” I said. She smoothed her apron with nervous fingers. “There isn’t much to say, Your Majesty.” “So what's this rumour I hear about?” I pressed on.She didn’t answer.“I left you that job because she trusted you,” I said quieter. “Her things stayed as she left them. That was all I asked.”I still don't understand why she doesn't want to clean the room anymore. She flinched. “Can I be honest?” she blurted, like she’d been holding it in too long.I signaled the guards to wait outside. The door clicked shut. “Go on,” my voice flat.“It’s like…” she started, then stopped. Her hands tightened. “I don’t think she’s coming back,” she spoke, sharp.I felt something twist. I’ve paid men, sent messages, put up alerts.

**Elena**I.. couldn't resist any longer.. And..I crushed my lips on his, fingers digging into his collar like I owned him.He let out a sharp breath, lips pouting in surprise…then he kissed me back, our heads tilting, mouths clashing, the sounds we made sending sparks crawling over my skin, hair standing on end.I pulled him closer, tongue teasing and roaming. And before I even thought, I straddled his lap, legs on either side, him right there between me. My gown rode up, his palm hot against my thigh.I shoved harder into him, deepening the kiss. He growled, one hand sliding my gown further up, the other pressed to my waist like he was afraid I’d vanish if he didn’t hold me tight. My hands tangled in his hair, dragged down his neck, lips grazing the side of it, tongue brushing over sensitive spots. His growl was low, rough, vibrating..I shivered, pressed closer…and yanked his buttons open, my hips still rocking and grinding against him.He pulled my hair back as if it was in th

**Elena**“Hey… you got here first,” I whispered to him, brushing my fingers lightly over his shoulder. He turned his head and gave me that small smile of his…the kind that always looked calm but carried a weight I couldn’t quite name. With gentle hands, he tugged me closer, guiding me to sit beside him.“Isn’t the sky beautiful tonight, Ena?” he murmured as he leaned back, lying flat on the spread-out cloth on the porch.I followed his gaze upward. The stars blinked like scattered diamonds across the dark velvet.“It is,” I breathed. Then my brows knitted. But… why out here? I thought tonight was supposed to be… different. But I didn't say that out loud. “So… you love stargazing or…?” I asked, searching his face. That was when he finally turned. His eyes caught mine, holding me in place.“We used to come here together,” he said softly, his hand sliding down to find mine. His fingers tightened around my palm, warm and steady. We?“Me, Liam… and Joy,” he continued.Oh. My throa

**Elena**I have to figure out what this whole thing means..But how?“Hi there again…”A female voice distracted my thoughts.I turned. Joy.I didn't expect her to come here or even try to talk to me.“Hey,” I said, shifting slightly so she could lean against the railing beside me.She gave a weird, nervous laugh. “I can see you don’t really like me.”I blinked, caught off guard. Don’t like her? Why would she think that? I forced a small smile. “No… no. That’s not the case. I’m just… not used to talking to people here.”She nodded slowly. “I know. I heard about the accident. I’m really sorry… it must be hard, not to…uh…recur anything.” Her words stumbled out, almost apologetic.I shrugged lightly, letting my gaze drift to the balcony lights below. “No, it’s fine. I’m used to it. And the doctors said it’s only temporary.”Her eyes softened. “Same thing they said to me… until I drifted back into a coma.” She laughed, light, like it was nothing serious.Coma. My stomach twisted. She…

**Elena**I stole a quick glance from the balcony to the field. People were already moving…chairs scraping, judges gone…. but those two? Still down there, rooted. Eyes locked…. Just them.Ena, stop it. I told myself that, hard. Logan promised to explain. Liam already promised. Promise, promise…words floating around me like confetti that won’t stick.“C’mon, Ena. You’re thinking things too much.” Liam’s voice, casual.. “I thought Logan already promised to explain everything to you.”“I mean… yeah.” I blinked on cue.. “But you’ve also decided to keep me in the dark. Seriously, Liam…. who is she? You know I’ve seen her in a picture in your room.” I poked at his chest like that might cough up answers. He laughed, the soft kind. “You know what? I’m done with you.” He shook his head and grinned. “Okay, I’m going in to get dressed. Since the celebrant… I mean the celebrants….have refused to get ready.” He winked and started to leave, doing the whole ‘I’m the reason parties exist’ thing.
