Chapter 1

Danica’s POV

Hi, I am Danica Ravens and I am seven years old. Here, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am the Alpha’s daughter of the Blood Ravens pack. We are werewolves. Yes, we do exist but we just don’t interact much with the human kind. It’s safer for us that way. I have raven black hair that extends far down my back with a single patch of crimson red hair just on the top of my head and my eyes are of the deepest emerald green just like my Mother’s. I am to be the future Alpha of the Blood Raven’s pack because I am the oldest and my Father never sired a male heir. My sister, Rebecca and I have a good life here with our parents. We are loved and well cared for among our family and pack members. And now, to why I summoned you here.

I am playing in the backyard of our pack house with my younger sister Rebecca, when all of a sudden my body was wracked with the worst pain that I have ever felt in my young life. Rebecca just stood and watched in horror as my small body began to twist and contort in unnatural ways. I could feel my bones snapping and then going back into place. It was as if I was in a waking nightmare that just would not end. I could feel my body become weightless as I floated above the ground in a blinding white light. It seemed like hours but I am sure that it was only a few short minutes. My Mother watched from the kitchen window with a terrified expression on her face as I began to change right in front of her eyes.  When the pain finally subsided,  I gently floated down to the ground and was laid upon the soft grass. I knew that I felt different but I didn’t understand what had just happened to me. My Mother came running out of the house and to my side. I slowly opened my eyes to look up at her as she smiled down sweetly at me. I had just endured my first shift as a wolf.  My wolf was as black as the midnight sky but I had a single patch of crimson red fur on the top of my head just between my ears. I could hear a gravely female voice inside my head that simply said “Hello, I am Morgana. It’s nice to finally be awake. I wasn’t sure exactly where the voice was coming from but it sounded so familiar like I had known her my whole entire life. I kept the fact of the voice in my head to myself because I thought that something was wrong and I didn’t want to worry my Mom. Being my first shift, my body couldn’t hold my wolf form for too long. My Mother gently scooped me up into her arms and hugged me gently as she walked back into the house. She sat  me down on my bed and walked to my closet to get me a set of pajamas to put on. I laid down in my soft, warm bed as she pulled my comforter up over me and I could feel myself finally drifting off to sleep. The next morning I awoke to a beautiful day with the sun shining through the large window of my room. I yawned and stretched and realized just how sore my muscles were, cringing slightly. My Mother kept a close eye on me for the next couple of weeks but I hadn’t shifted since.so she eventually stopped worrying. I seemed to hear Morgana’s voice  more and more in my head as the days passed.  It was like Morgana had been there all along and soon became a trusted friend.
