I could hear his heart beating, he was alive. Good! After my death experience, I really didn’t like the idea of staying next to corpses.

Covering my nose, I took a step closer. Despite the smell of piss, something in this man called for me.

Crouching down carefully, I shook his shoulder, trying to wake him up.

“Angeline,” he mumbled without moving his face off the ground.

Standing up with a jolt, I jumped back twice, putting distance between me and the butt-naked weirdo. What the hell! How did he know my name?

A lump formed in my throat. Was he one of the bad wolves, demons or whatever that was after me?

“Angeline, he isn’t a bad guy. Can’t you feel him? Can’t you feel that something in him calls for your soul?” Dora asked softly.

“Angey is normal like me, Dora! Her head isn’t lost in outer space and she isn't five years old. The only thing she can feel is how he stinks of pee! This name-calling number can’t mean anything good,” Calypso shook her head in my mind.
