Chapter 3: Magic river

Clara held her sword, her eyes full as she looked at everyone present.

Liam couldn't believe his useless nephew could change like that. From the eyes to the attitude, everything is different from before. He was even more surprised when the sword god was in her hands.

Clara sneered and wanted to see his scarred face for so long.

"Don't blame me!"

Liam was starting to panic. Even if the power was in his hands, he still couldn't win the one with the magic sword.

"I will give you back everything you want if you come back here with the clan!" Liam lowered his voice and wanted to use Clara. If she returned to the palace, he would quickly snatch the magic sword from her hand.

Clara laughed. How could she not know his plans? She firmly grasped the sword and shouted:

"That's ridiculous. I'll never be fooled by you again!"

With no other choice, Liam returned to Clara all her parents' memorabilia. Although it was not a precious item, it meant something to her.

After achieving her goal, Clara sneered and led Dove out of the palace.

While leaving, Dove saw Clara with a strange expression.

Dove whispered: "What's wrong?"

Clara didn't answer Dove. Clara kept going until the end of the road. She suddenly turned around and ran as fast as possible to the tree where someone was hiding. She used the edge of the divine sword close to the necks of her followers.

"If you don't want to die, then go away!"

The sword's sharp blade was imprinting on the fox demon's neck. He suddenly turned pale and immediately ran away.

Dove did not expect someone to follow her and Clara. From the moment Clara stepped out of the palace, she was sure to be watched with intent to kill her.

After safely returning to the cave, Dove breathed a sigh of relief. She and Clara sat in the moonlight. Seeing Clara keep looking at the blue sky, Dove suddenly remembered her parents' story. It is a legendary story about the Magic river.

"If anyone who is a demon falls down the Magic river and doesn't get up, the soul will go to another world! If it were a human, if they fell into this river, they would die!" Dove told.

Actually, in the demon kingdom, there is a legend about humans. Although the two worlds stand in their way, youkai still believe in the existence of humans.

"Is that true?" Clara looked at Dove with a rugged look.

"It's just a legend!"

Clara thinks otherwise. She firmly believes this to be true.

"Why don't we go and see?" Clara said.

Dove regretted telling this legend to Clara. She didn't know what Clara would do next.

Having just woken up, Clara dragged Dove to the magical riverbank. Once she was curious about something, she had to find out.

The Magic river lies at the end of the kingdom. It is a secluded place where no one dares to go. The legend of the river's power is also a mystery because no one knows the truth.

Clara crept through the vast forest. Dove was standing next to her, shivering. Although it was morning, the sky here was still ominously overcast.

The two approached the magical riverbank. Transparent color water sees through the bottom of the river. The jet-black rocks stretched across the river.

Clara was busy watching when she suddenly heard Dove's scream.

"Someone died here, Clara!" Dove shouted.

Clara turned her head towards Dove. She approached and saw a boy drifting in the river. Judging by the physical features, she was sure it was not from her world. The little boy is very young and wears strange clothes. Is this boy human?

She approached and pulled the boy to the shore and held her hands close to listen to the boy's breathing.

"This boy is alive!" Clara looked at Dove and made sure.

Although the boy's breathing was feeble, Clara was sure that the boy would have a chance to heal.

"What should we do now?" Dove is worried.

Clara suddenly remembered the magic stone in her body. This stone that saved her will surely keep the boy. Although she was a bit worried, she still couldn't help but save people.

Clara pressed her lips to the boy's lips and opened her mouth. Marble from her mouth entered the boy's mouth. The boy's whole body radiated a bright light that then faded away.

Dove was surprised by Clara's actions. She asked: "Is it too risky for you to do that?"

Clara's breathing became heavier and full of fatigue. Without Marble, her power is not the same as before. But she had to do it to save the boy.

"I'll get Marble back when he wakes up. Don't worry!"

As soon as Clara finished speaking, she staggered and fainted. Dove panicked and helped Clara to lie on the rock. She intends to go into the forest to find food for Clara. But when she turned around, someone hit her hard on the back. Dove faints next to Clara.

Louis's image of a demon lying on the ground and sneering. He followed the scent of old blood in the cave and came here.

"So these two lovable youkai killed the other two werewolves!" Louis whispered.

Louis looked at the magic river in front of him again. He also heard the mysterious legend but never knew how true. Looking at the three people lying motionless, he had another evil intention.

Louis pulled Clara, Dove, and the boy and threw them into the river. He wanted to see if the legend of this river was true.

Under the water, Clara and Dove's bodies began to dissolve. Soon, the two bodies were submerging in the clear water. And the boy sank to the bottom of the river and disappeared.

Louis, don't stay on the shore and watch it all. He raised an eyebrow, unable to believe his eyes. He did not expect this mysterious legend to be true.
