Selene

Having hope was something that had renewed my soul.

Seeing Izan's desolate expression finally gone had given me the tools to find strength. If my blood was able to effect a curse, then my blood could help those infected by the silk sickness.

The divine magic in my blood could easily remove the magical parasite, so I had to sort out my thoughts on the matter. It was going to be tricky to study with someone infected, but Daemon was right, and I checked with Izan.

“Are you okay?” asked Gabrielle carefully. “You have a strange expression on your face; I don't know if you're happy or worried.”

“Both,” I said carefully. “I need to study a person infected with silk sickness.”

“That's not possible, Selene,” Gabrielle said fearfully.

“I know, I know, but the only viable way to find some sort of cure using my blood is that way,” I said confidently. "I could verify that what Daemon said was true, and like it or not, having an infected person in the lab would be a good thing. Or at the ver

  • My mate's betrayal   Chapter 123

IzanThe situation was complicated.Instead of going to a council meeting, we went to a damn funeral. The daughters of the Alpha and Moon of the Golden Pack were devastated; they seemed truly beside themselves. The shock had consumed them in such a sad way that I couldn't even criticize them. I was on the verge of falling into that kind of depression when everyone died.“Are you okay?” my grandfather asked, and I nodded. He knew very well how these kinds of situations affected me, especially since I saw the reports of the dark marks that the Moon and the Alpha had. It was horrible but also a reminder that the worst was just beginning.“I'm fine,” I whispered, and my grandfather nodded.“I lent my support to the healers here,” said Grandfather, and I raised my eyebrows. “I had to prepare the bodies of my daughter, my son-in-law, and my grandchildren. I know what those curses look like.”I nodded, and Selene squeezed my hand.Ever since she saw my angry reaction, she hasn't left my side

SeleneI returned home with the feeling that something momentous had happened. And I wasn't referring to the fact that the Goddess herself had blessed me or my baby; it was something else, something energetic, a change I could feel but couldn't quite see. So I waited until everyone left Izan and me alone so I could tell him how I felt.“Are you okay?” my mate asked carefully.I realized that he didn't perceive the change and was referring to my physical condition, so I was very honest.“I'm fine,” I said, and he sighed with relief. “At least physically.”“Why do you say that?” Izan asked, now alarmed.Don't play with his concern; he probably has a lot on his mind right now, and the uncertainty will make him explode, Kate snapped. And my beast was right.“I feel an energetic change in the atmosphere. I feel that something has changed, but I can't see it; I can only sense it,” I said calmly, and Izan's eyebrows shot up in surprise. “I don't know exactly what's going on, but I don't like

IzanI held back my urge to open and close my mouth in disbelief. You must listen; the Goddess is lovely. If she came down, it's because she needs to tell you something very important, Sirhan explained.I know that, but it must be something very bad, I said fearfully. Not necessarily.“It's nice to be able to listen to my creations' conversations with their beasts,” said the Goddess with amusement, and the angel smiled, amused. “But I need my precious beasts to leave the minds of their vessels so that I can have a clear conversation with them.”At that moment, I felt as if Sirhan had left, and I was scared.“What the hell?” Gabrielle asked, and the Goddess clicked her tongue at my best friend's language.Selene squeezed my hand tightly, so I held her back.I was sure she wasn't just scared; she was on the verge of screaming.“You don't have to be so rude,” said the Goddess and smiled. “Although you're more fun than you appear, girl.”Gabrielle frowned, and none of us could stand the s

SeleneI wasn't stupid.Something much more serious and intense had happened than they wanted me to believe. My mate's reaction was still bad even after I woke up. I had heard him beg the Goddess for me. So when I let my uncle hug me and everyone greet me, I looked closely at my mate when we were alone.“I don't want any lies,” I said, and Izan was surprised by my firm tone of voice. “What happened? And don't downplay anything. My uncle was terrified, and you looked like you were about to explode.”Izan sighed deeply, as if it weighed heavily on him, and that was the sign I needed to understand that I wasn't so far off about what was happening. My mate gave me a summary of everything, and as he gave me every detail, I felt more and more fragile, so all I could do was hold my stomach tightly in fear. I couldn't help but cry when I found out what Axel had done for me.The situation was shitty, but that's how I understood why Azael and the white wolf told me to put my pride aside and bel

Axel“I have bad news,” Amelie said as we explored the land of Crescent.Yasa wanted to check everything, so she was still exploring the territory as much as possible in search of the curse Clare had placed. That's why when we returned from the Eclipse Pack, we focused on helping her and verifying that everything was okay. That's why Amelie's words surprised me.“What's going on?” I asked immediately.“You must come with me to Eclipse right now. There's no time to explain,” she said, and that's when I realized that Zanders was a few feet away.I looked at Nick, and he nodded, giving me the go-ahead to leave, as did the others, especially Aria, who was standing near Yasa asking questions about the land.I took Amelie's hand, and in no time I was at the Eclipse Pack.“What's going on?” I asked, and then I saw Maurice approaching with a look of fear on his face. That could only mean one thing.“Selene was attacked,” Maurice said, and my brain exploded. “Someone left her a note, and it tu

Clare“What are you not telling me?” I asked Graco after the disaster at Eclipse and Crescent.I knew I was a pawn in his game, but I wasn't stupid.I had noticed that his interest in Selene had reached unprecedented levels. They wanted Selene and her baby for their blood. I found that out the hard way, but I wasn't stupid enough to think it was just a way to gain more power. I was missing something more important.“What do you mean?” Graco asked, frowning as he looked through some files.“The Belmonts' spoiled daughter is more than collateral damage; she's more than blood,” I said, and saw that Graco didn't flinch. “I'm missing something, and I want clear and concise answers.”Graco laughed and mocked me.“Sometimes I'm surprised you're still so naive,” he said with amusement. “I never reveal all my plans, especially not to a blood slave like you.”I took a deep breath, but I couldn't help unleashing energy in the room and sending everything flying through the air, including Graco hi
