“Dad will be discharged today”

“Yeah, I know”said Natasha my sister

“Did you find him a caretaker like the doctor said”

“Yes, we did”

“Where is she? She is supposed to be here”

“She on her way with mom and Madison”

“Wait, Madison is back?”

“Yes”

“When?”

“Yesterday”

“Why didn’t anyone tell me?”

“She wanted to surprise you”

Just then, there was a knock on the door

“Come in”I said

“Oh good! Here she is”

I turned around and saw her. She was so pretty and gorgeous. Her eyes looked so innocent as if she was born today. Her skin tone was bright like the morning sun. Our eyes stared at each other for sometime until mom broke the silence.

“Good morning son”

“Good morning mom”

“How are you?”

“I’m fine”

“Where is your dad?”

“He is with the doctor”

“Hope everything is well?”

“Yes. Mom, who is she”I said pointing at the caretaker

“I’m sorry,I totally forgot. Evans this is Alex your dad’s caretaker. Alex this is my son, Evans”

“Nice to meet you”she said with a shy voice.

I was about to give her a handshake when Madison came to me and gave me a hug.

“Oh! How I missed you”

“Madison honey, how are you?”I said with a kiss on her lips

“I’m fine”

“When did you come back?”

“Yesterday”

“Why didn’t you inform me so that I will pick you up from the airport?”

“I wanted to surprise you”

My dad came in and mom gave him a big hug. Alex brought out the wheelchair and my dad sat on it. She pushed the chair to the car and we drove off.

I was with the other maids in kitchen talking about the arrival of the new caretaker and her dad

“Who does she think she is?”

“Nelly would you please let her be”said Stephanie

“And why should I? Ain’t you not upset that the old man took your position?”

“Nelly would you please stop”

“Ummm...I heard voices. Is everything the matter?”said George

“Yes sir everything is alright. Nelly was just telling me about her new boyfriend. Is that’s right Nelly?”

“Yes”

“Ok. But get back to work, time is money”he said and left

“Did you see it?”

“See what?”

“The look in his eyes and tone of command. Because he was given head of staff yesterday. Who does he think he is?”

“Nelly, please don’t drag me into your scheme this time”she said and went outside

“Fine, leave. CHICKEN”

I noticed the look on Evans face when he first saw Alex. The look in his eyes made me curious about the two. When we got home, I had a little chat with Evans in the garden

“Evans! Evans!!”

“Ugh”

“I have something that has being bothering mind ever since we left the hospital”

“What is it?”

“It’s about the way you looked at Alex at the hospital”

“So what about it?”

“Have you guys met before apart from the introduction at the hospital”

“No”

“Okay I just wanted to confirm something, that’s all”

“I don’t know what really runs in your head of yourself. I think you need to see a doctor”

“Come on Evans, would you just stop. Is it a crime to you ask a question?”

“Yes”

“Just forget. You are even more arrogant than your so called finance”

“Leave Madison out of this”

“Why! Are you going to beat me up or arrest me?”

“I’m done with this conversation. I’m off to work”

“Wait, I’m not done with you”

“Anderson! Anderson!!”he yelled

“Yes boss”

“Let’s go”

“Ok boss”

He entered the car and they drove off

“What kind of brother do I have?”I lamented
