Chapter 5: Failed attempt

Olwen quickly left the Ramos building. She was so excited and happy that she wanted to tell her father about her discovery. Olwen was full of hope, hoping that with this evidence, her father, after learning about Jack's nature, would annul the marriage.

With full confidence, Olwen went to talk to her father in the study. Olwen was so impatient that she got straight to the point when her father asked her what?

When she opened the footage to her father, Olwen still had faith that everything would work out for her. Olwen even dared to imagine her father would be angry, knowing the true face of his future son-in-law.

Unfortunately, the reality is always harsh when it comes to hitting Olwen so hard that her heart almost breaks. Things took a different turn that Olwen did not expect. When he finished watching the video of Jack's evidence of betrayal, Olwen's father showed a pensive expression for a moment and then said:

"You end up doing all sorts of silly things just to get out of the marriage?" The old man's voice asked in an irritated voice.

"Dad." Olwen was confused by her father's reaction. Olwen realized her father was angry at what she did, not at the truth about Jack.

Why? What happened is absurd.

"Sneaking into the Ramos building, you dare to use the name of the director's fiancé. Do you know what the consequences of your actions will be?" The man shouted loudly, "I never taught you to act so rudely. It's embarrassing."

With strong words, and a hard face, the man was showing a very toxic aura. To be honest, he had just received a call from Mr. Ramos about Olwen's behavior. Someone discovered Olwen's reckless actions.

Eyes wide, Olwen looked at her father in horror.

Father Olwen already knew that. How? At this point, Olwen was in no mood to find out. She only knew that her father was pouring out his rage on her.

Is there anything wrong with Olwen going to see her fiancé? Logically it was normal, but on the other hand, Olwen lied that she had a date with Jack, when it wasn't. So Olwen's behavior is considered wrong.

After a few seconds of looking at her father, Olwen timidly looked down at the floor. There Olwen felt safer than facing her father.

"Answer the question." The old man raised his voice again as Olwen just remained silent, bowing her head. He hated Olwen's evasive attitude.

He was too used to his father's harsh, aggressive attitude. Olwen had long since stopped being swayed by harsh words.

"That's right, father." Olwen raised her head, courageously admitting: "I can't marry someone like him. I definitely won't have a future, much less happy with a guy who only knows how to play with women's bodies. Do you think marrying him is a very cruel thing to me? Please..."

"How can you be sure?" Father Olwen interrupted the plea, mockingly asking: "Relying on something as trivial as this?"

Mediocre? The proof is so clear and authentic. Yet Father Olwen considers it a piece of junk, of no use at all. Not to mention that the evidence was directly recorded by Olwen herself, she was also a witness to the abomination that Jack had committed. Father Olwen said that without thinking about her feelings. It's like saying there's nothing Olwen can do. That is hard to accept.

"Father..." Olwen was about to say when her father held out a hand.

With decisive action, full of precision. The old man threw Olwen's phone on the floor, near her feet, and said sarcastically:

"Olwen, Olwen, don't you know that men are inherently romantic. They can play with as many women as they like, as long as they are still responsible for the family."

Olwen could not accept what her father had just taught. She is a woman who detests betrayal in love as well as in marriage. For Olwen marriage is sacred, and should only happen once in a lifetime. To be precise, Olwen is the faithful type, so her views don't agree with her father's.

"I believe Jack will fix his mind after you two get married." The man added when he saw Olwen trying to control his excitement.

"In any way, father, I don't see anything positive about his change. Is all that I gather not enough to convince you to change your mind and marry me to someone who is not good enough? what?" Olwen bluntly questioned: "What else do I need to do so that I can change my mind?"

"Enough." The old man shouted loudly: "Don't argue, obediently obey my request. If you want to live in peace." Father Olwen emphasized the following sentence. A threat was blatantly public. Olwen understood that she had no other choice. But she still doesn't want to give up.

"Father. Please listen to me, please..." Olwen begged urgently.

"Go out." The old man yelled at Olwen again: "I don't want to hear any more complaints about this marriage. I decided to do it."

"The wedding has been decided to take place this Sunday, if you prepare well, don't embarrass me in front of the people." The old man seemed to remember what was agreed between the two families, of course, Olwen was not present at that time, only to speak to Olwen.

What? This news is truly like a thunderbolt. Why organize so early? Olwen was dumbfounded after hearing that, she wanted to open her mouth to ask something but the words were suddenly blocked.

So the end? Olwen thought desperately.

Silence and nothing happens.

Olwen, with a sad face, filled with disappointment, left the room when she realized that her father was no longer interested in her. She bent down to pick up her phone without saying a word to her father.
