Chapter 1: Death Day

"You will die if you don't stop writing novels!" Ella shouted at me. I laughed while showing her my last work.

"If we do not find a story we want, we have to write it ourselves," I said excitedly.

"All stories are the same," she replied.

I continued, "Oh no! It is different from the usual werewolf stories."

Ella looked at me angrily. She replied, "I know. I like your werewolf novel. I know your writing is like filling your soul. However, your current situation is not like before, Celine. Your heart is not well. You cannot force your body to do everything at once. You have to choose between your job in the company or your writing career."

I snorted. She frowned her forehead and looked at me angrily.

My name is Celine Young, a 29-year-old girl with a steady job with a good salary. However, my passion for writing was unstoppable, so I decided to write a novel online whenever I got home from work. That is why I always write at night because I have a different job in the morning.

In the morning, I work for a start-up called "Noah". They produce a bracelet for pets that sets GPS to detect their locations. I am dating the CEO of this company. We have decided to get married next month. So, it is hard for me to resign because of writing my novel and leaving him alone to expand his business. I still want to be beside him to protect his dream.

I start my second life as an author at night. My pen name is Electra. My readers call themselves Electranian. I do not know that they even have that name. Maybe, it was a wordplay from the word "Electrician." Nobody in Electranian knows that Electra is me, except some close friends. I have written six novels this year.

To open the new year 2023, I start writing a werewolf story. It is my first time writing about a werewolf. It was so hard for me to understand the werewolf life at first because it was not real. I even think about how the reader can imagine something which never exists.

Because I have to work hard during the daytime and night, I lack rest. Not to mention my current unbalanced lifestyle, I was finally sentenced to have chronic heart disease.

The doctor forbade me to consume several foods and drinks, including coffee, my favourite drink. The doctor also forbade me to stay up at night. I have only one time to write novels at night.

The girl whom I am talking with is my best name. Her name is Ella Cordeline. We've been friends since we were in college. Ella is a beautiful girl. She has a fair skin, blue eyes and bobbed-blond hair. Her body is also like a body goal. Her beauty can make all men stare at her.

Her pretty face is inversely proportional to my ugly self. I weigh more than 60 kg. Sometimes, people call me a pig. I believe all my readers will not like me if I show up my face. That is why I did not reveal who "electra" is.

Ella Cordyline, my best friend, always reminds me to take care of my health. However, she herself is my online novel reader. She wants my story to continue how she wants to finish my writing career.

"I am not going to stop writing. What's wrong with me now? I'm fine..." I replied with a smile.

The girl who has been in friendship with me for seven years got up from her chair and held my shoulders.

"Your physique is not what it used to be. You are not young anymore. You are 29 years old now. The doctor said that your heart is no longer strong. The doctor forbade you to stay up late and drink coffee. But you broke it for the sake of your crazy hobby!" she said.

"Writing is not my hobby. It is my—"

My face is getting red because I am angry when she underestimate my writing. But, I hold myself. I realize Ella did not mean to stop my writing career. She is just worried about my health.

I take Ella's hands off my shoulders. This bobbed hair girl worries me more than anyone in the world. I feel touched by her care for me. But nothing can stop me from writing fiction. It feels like writing can not be separated from my life.

"Relax. I am fine. I am not going to die just because of a cup of coffee or staying up the night", I replied.

"This is the last coffee I gave. I will not give you any more coffee after this." Ella threatened me by pointing her index finger in front of my nose.

Ella is my best friend who always gives me coffee because her father is a farmer of the best coffee beans in the country. I always order from her family.

"Tonight is a special night. The story I wrote has reached its end. I must stay up tonight," I said.

"WHAT?" she shouted.

"Why are you screaming?" I asked.

"Are you about to end the love story of Alpha and Luna? I beg you not..." said Ella whining.

"As I recall, you told me to stop writing," I said with a laugh.

"Oh no... I didn't tell you to stop writing. I really like your story. I just told you to stop staying up late," he said.

I chuckled too.

"I will make a sad ending. This is a spoiler. The story will be like this; I will make Luna die. Then, Luna's love for Alpha will be eternal," I said, giving the spoiler to Ella.

"Celine, are you crazy? I beg you. Don't kill Luna. Your readers will curse you if you do that," Ella said.

"I will make Luna's character die under the full moon because of the poison given by someone mysterious," I said to Ella again, giving her a spoiler to make her even more furious.

"I'm going to stay up just for tonight to make the story's ending, "I continued.

Ella looked scrunched up her face, not looking happy at all, maybe, because he was too attached to the character Luna in my novel.

"If you kill Luna, you must take responsibility and suffer the consequences!" Ella threatened before she finally left my house in an annoyed state.

I smiled too. It's a triumph for me when my readers can feel the emotions born of fiction.

After Ella leaves my apartment, I wonder what Ella wants. She wants me to stop writing my story. But she also wants me to continue my novel. She is complicated.

Tonight, I opened my bedroom window, letting a full moonlight into the room. The desk where I write the novel is near that window, so I can see the sky.

Accompanied by a cup of americano, I brew it myself. I used the beans Ella gave me. Afterwards, I return to my desk and sit with two eyes focusing on the laptop. I stared at the alpha character visuals for a moment with a fantastic look.

"Ah... if only you were real," I said alone. I took a sip of coffee and started writing.

"Luna was lying stiff. People with pitying faces surrounded her. Beside the girl with soft cream hair, a dashing man gently accompanied her, holding her hand, hoping the girl could come back to life. The man's tears dripped and –"

Suddenly the sound of the phone ringing startled me. I stood up and walked to the place I had put my phone. I answered the call.

"Celine, I know your wedding date is close. I know you love Taylor, your fiancee. You even did not want to resign from the office because of him. But I have to tell you this. If not, I will regret it forever," said Anne, one of my colleagues at the office.

"What is it?" I asked. The girl sounds hesitant to give out this information. I furrow my brow, guessing what Anne would say.

"I see your Fiancé kissing Ella every morning in the office corner."

"Huh?"

"I am sorry to tell you this. Taylor had cheated on you."

My heartbeat stops. The names of my fiancee and my best friend are in the same sentence.

Maybe, I just misheard. But, she repeats it twice.

My knees buckle instantly. Sweat is falling. My eyesight suddenly blurs. I can not breathe. Suddenly I can not draw oxygen correctly. My whole life seemed to be sucked into the darkness.

At this point, I think I am dying. I can feel that I have slowly lost consciousness.

"Hello? Hello? Celine?" shouted Anne over the phone. However, my phone fell to the floor. My body becomes limp, and I start to fall, lay down and dark–

With the last consciousness in my brain, I ask myself, "Am I dying now?"
