SELENA

"I'm sorry, Selena."

Selene whispered.

It was the umpteenth time already.

She'd said it several times before we entered our room, and she had said it again when she closed the door behind her.

But I ignored her.

I wouldn't waste my word on her. Honestly, I didn't want to talk to her at all.

Saying anything to her at this moment would only escalate things or estrange us even more. I didn't want that.

So, I decided to keep quiet. No matter how much she apologized, I wouldn't answer her until I was calm enough to accept her apology.

I removed my dress and walked into the bathroom.

The bathroom was without a bathtub. Considering the hundreds of servants in the castle, it was already a good thing that Selene and I had a room to ourselves. How could we ever wish for a bathtub?

I stood under the shower and turned it on. The cold water dripped into my skin, and I closed my eyes, letting out a deep breath.

The day had been too stressful.

I had expected to spend the day rehear

SELENEI watched as Selena left the room with a smile on her face, but for some reason, I felt uneasy. After what happened in the throne room before she fainted, I'd expected her to question me about everything. The dead maid. My interaction with the Alphas. Everything was suspicious, and with her expression when she fainted, she should have noticed everything. This was also the reason I stopped the intimacy with Alpha Severin, who was eager to take me into his room for some fun. I wanted to see Selena and hear what she would say. I had been scared. Even when she was asleep for hours, I hadn't been able to come up with a single excuse that would make her believe me. I'd imagined many scenarios and even ones that scared me so much that I paled. But nothing seemed to help. Seeing Selena awake in bed, my heart pounded, and my legs seemed heavier than ever. Walking toward her, I couldn't help but pray she wouldn't be too angry with me. I couldn't help but think hard, looking for e

SELENAMy mind seemed to have been messed up. It was out of my control. My body trembled. My fingers went cold. Voices screamed in my head, telling me to escape. But my eyes remained fixed on the figures before me. And right then, Alpha Raviel turned. His dark golden eyes held mine with controlled indifference as he calmly dropped his hands and took a step back, avoiding Alpha Severin's fist. Sensing his brother's movement, Alpha Severin also stopped. The triplet Alphas all looked at me. Their pairs of superior eyes held mine, and none of us said a word to each other. But their scents weren't so calm. The three powerful scents filled my nose and penetrated into my body, threatening to dominate every remnant of consciousness in me. My lips quivered, and subconsciously, I found myself pulling my sleeve down again... to cover the scar on my wrist. "Selena?" Alpha Severin broke the silence. Raising my head to him, our eyes locked. He waved cheerfully. "Come over." Listenin

SELENAHaving treated my cheek's injury, I had no reason to stay longer in the field, and Nick couldn't leave without completing his training either. "I will see you later," I said, leaving the room. Nick nodded. He held the unused plaster in his hand, rolling it between his fingers. "I will arrange the meeting by evening or early tomorrow morning. Don't worry, I will find a way to make sure Selene doesn't know about it." He promised. I sighed and revealed a smile on my lips. "Thank you." Nick's eyes widened subtly. He looked at me for a moment and shook his head. "It's nothing. I failed you first." He mumbled. Hearing his words, my jaw clenched for a moment, and my temple hurt. Really. Would I say I wasn't angry with him for what happened? The Alphas who failed to recognise me and even framed my sister. The good friend, Nick, who pushed me into the dark room, made me go through five days of consecutive psychological torture. The sister who left me there even when she knew eve

SELENA"So, what do you plan to do next? Say the word, and I will help you with anything." Nick said eagerly. Though his voice was still hoarse and low from crying, the determination in his eyes couldn't be hidden. I blinked. A small smile played on my lips despite the arching pain in my heart. I took Nick's hand and looked into his golden eyes. "Can you arrange a meeting with Healer Stephanie?" I asked. This was my only hope for now. Nick's expression changed slightly. His hands went cold, and a deep fear emerged within his eyes. "I think you shouldn't see her." He mumbled. A frown formed on my face. "What do you mean?" Nick couldn't be scared for nothing, or could it be that he was scared of the Alphas punishing him if they found out that he helped me meet up with Healer Stephanie? Selene had said it before. The Alphas believed that I wasn't worthy of having Healer Stephanie attend to me. My heart ached at the thought. Even though I knew it wasn't the alphas' fault, my body

SELENARaising my head to look at the face I hadn't seen in more than a month... memories flashed through my head. It was of Nick's coldness. His indifferent attitude as he ordered his men to shove me into the dark room with the corpse. My body trembled slightly, and I took a step backward. Nick stared at me, his hand outstretched, but he never reached me and could only stare. "I'm fine." I coldly replied and turned around to leave. The greenery scent wafted into my nose, slightly comforting but at the same time, reminding me of how far I had walked. I stared at the empty field and suddenly realized that it might be the beta's training field. The urge to stay disappeared, and I decided to leave. However, Nick grabbed my hand, pulling me back. "You're bleeding." His tone sounded a bit guilty. My gaze fell on the wrist he held, and seeing that, he removed his hand and took a step back. "Sorry." He whispered. "I can help you take care of the wound." He proposed. Staring at the

SELENAMy mind remained heavy with thoughts, but my expression had slowly regained calmness. After sitting and thinking alone for hours, my heart had calmed down significantly. The waves in my heart weren't as turbulent as before. Selene had betrayed, and this wasn't the first time. It wasn't the second time either... and surprisingly, it might not be the last time. The present Selene was no longer the sister I used to know. Though I had always tried to accept this fact, this was the first time it seriously dawned on me. The denial had weakened, and at the moment, I knew I either had to do something or I might have to lose my identity forever. That shouldn't happen. Not for any reason, but for Selene to know that betraying our sisterhood was her biggest mistake. Right then, the door creaked, and a figure slowly stepped in. Orchid scent wafted into my nose, and focusing on the figure, I saw rosy cheeks and slightly swollen lips. Bitterness formed in my chest. But my eyes we
