Chapter 19

“We’re ready to talk!! Ash— Ash please!” One of them cried as blood seeped out of their eyes like a gentle river. I chuckled dryly while I puffed heavy rounds of smoke.

“Ash!!”

I threw my finished cigarette away and then glanced at the time on my watch. Seven minutes past eight. After several hours these bastards had finally decided to talk.

“I must give it to the two of you for holding out this long.” I commented.

“Give us the antidote!” The other one screamed but I wriggled my right index finger.

“Nah, you’ll give me my answers and you better pray that I’m satisfied unless neither of you are getting this antidote.” I replied and they panted heavily.

“We’ll tell you everything!” The one on the right exclaimed exasperatedly.

“Where are you people from?” I queried while I pulled out another cigarette.

“White wood Pack!”

“What?!” My cigarette fell from my lips as I arose abruptly. “White wood?” I trembled. “I thought that Pack had long disappeared.”
