Xavier was irritated, annoyed, mad, furious – his emotions were all over the place and he knew it was all because of that stupid human. It made him hate her even more. If he could, he would end her life in a heartbeat. He felt like he was losing control of everything which made him even more unpleasant then usually. His brothers couldn’t even provide him comfort because they were in the same boat as him. The brothers were also fight more and more intensely than they used to. The more Xavier felt annoyed and the more he saw his brothers bothered by the bond, the more he wanted to punish the human and soon he couldn’t take it anymore.
One night, Matthew and Raymond were still shouting at one another about something that really didn’t matter, after hours of listening to them acting like children, he lost it and stomped down to the cells.
“Move!” he growled to the guards. In a blink of an eye, they were out of the way, Xavier ripped opened the door and stomped inside, before he slammed the door shut, he made sure to tell the guards that they were not allowed to tell anyone about his visit. As he neared, her cell he walked slower and more softly, like a predator approaching its prey. He stopped as her scent hit him. He had never really paid attention to her scent, but it was sweet and refreshing – like cotton candy and the sea. The longer he stood there the more relaxed he got, honestly it was the most relax he felt in weeks, it almost made him forget about his anger. He shook his head, trying to focus back on his goal. He slowly made it down to her cell. He stared at her sleeping form. She was wearing something different form the last time he had saw her, she now wore black bike shorts and a big white tee, it smelled of Sarah. Her hands were both under her head as she laid on her side, facing Xavier. She looked so peaceful, like she had no worries. It annoyed and comforted Xavier at the same time, but since he was already annoyed to begin with, that emotion was more present than anything else. He didn’t like that she was getting all this rest, while he and his brothers where barely keeping their sanity in check. He wanted to take that away from her and he did.
He moved a bit down the hall and moved onto his ankles. He elongated his middle finger’s claw. He dragged it down the concrete, letting the sound echo of the cell walls. From his position he could see Jess start to stir in her sleep. He elongated two more claws and dragged them down the floor as well. The echoes were twice as loud as before, which made Jess jump out of her sleep. She looked around hastily, but it was useless, she couldn’t see anything.
“Hello?” Her soft sleepy voice rung out in the halls. Xavier held his breath as he heard her voice. He had heard her speak a few times at her interrogation, but this soft innocent voice made him want to hold her, protect her. He curled his hands into fist, he hated that he reacted the way he did, it was only when he smelt blood that he got pulled back into reality. He had cut himself with his claws. He took the sleeve of his jacket and cleaned up the few drops that had fallen, he didn’t want to leave any proof that he was here. He had to keep his plans a secret from everyone. With his mind put back together he dragged his claws against the concrete again, this time going deeper to make an even louder sound. Jess was sat upright in her bed, as the noise grew, the more she began to fear what was to come. She pulled her thin blanked up to her chest.
“Is anyone there?” She called out with a shacky voice. The noise seemed to stop for a while but soon she saw something even scarier than the noise. There was a pair of golden eyes lurking at her from a distance. An animal – that’s what Jess though, but as the pair of eyes moved silently closer to her cell the more scared, she felt. Jess held her breath as the eyes stopped right in front of her cell. She tried to comfort herself by telling her that it was just a small animal, but the eyes moved again. This time they didn’t move closer to her, but instead they moved from the low ground to the tall celling. Jess moved up the wall as the eyes moved higher and higher, as she stood on her bed, they pair of eyes were in line with hers. Her chest was rapidly rising and falling. What was watching her? That’s all she could think of. The stood there for a minute. Jess pressing herself against the wall and the pair
of golden eyes staring into her soul. She was completely surprised when something hit her cells steel bars, Jess rumbled the blanket in her hand in a heartbeat and throw it in the direction of the eyes. As the blanket fell the eyes were gone, which scared Jess even more. She was so scared that she could not move, she just stood on her bed. Listen and watching. Her heart was beating a mile a minute. Sleeping was no longer an option after what had happened.
When the dim hall light tuned on, Jess screamed again as she was surprised, but there was nothing to see. Nothing was in front of her cells. She stepped down from her bed and went to pick up her blanket. She stared at the steel bares surprise to not seen them bent or broken after the force they were hit with. Jess didn’t understand what had happened, but she knew it made her feel unsafe.
Xavier did this every night he was irritated or angry, he would sneak down to her cell and freak Jess out. Once he scared her so much that she had started to cry, he denied that it made him feel bad, but it took him almost a week before he could convince himself to come back down to her cell. Jess had already hated night, but now she feared and hated them, she couldn’t sleep, sure that ever noise she heard was the arrival of the monster.
Xavier had hidden his interaction with the human, by only visiting her at night and making sure to wash up after visiting the cells. When Sarah had eventually caught him, he thought that he was done for, but he was an Alpha, he simply just ordered her to not mention anything to anyone, that included the other alphas. So, with nothing in his way, he kept on terrorizing his mate. Making her cry didn’t affect him the more he did it either and soon he was Jess’s biggest fear down in the cells.
Jess couldn’t take it anymore. She was exhausted, drained, and scared all the time. She just wanted to get out of this hell hole, but how was the question. There was no way to fight her way out of the cells, it meant she would have to fight Sarah, the cell monster and who knew how many other people. She had to get into an easier place to escape from. It took weeks before she formed a plan, which was inspired by the monster. One night the monster had ripped Jessica’s blanket form her and the next morning when she saw that the blanket was in pieces, she remembered how the only time she was let out of the cell was for the interrogation and when she was hurt. She needed a reason to get back into the hospital. The only problem was that she had limited things to work with, she had thought of using the beast in her advantages, but the more she thought about it, the more she was certain that it would just kill her. So, she looked at the things she had at her disposal – her
Joshua reached Jess first, but by that time she was already unconscious. He picked her up and met the boys in the hallway. They all stared down at their mate in the arms of their brother. All of their eyes were gold, clearly showing the presence of their wolves.“What happened to her?” Matthew was the first to ask.“All I know is we need to get her to Doc.” Joshua said seriously and moved around his brothers and started to run towards the doctor’s offices. Joshua reached the office quickly and hurriedly laid the human down on the bed. Doc pushed him off immediately and started to inspect her. Sarah was also already there looking worried.“Her pulse is so weak. What happened?” Seth asked as he inspected her eyes. Everyone turned to Sarah.“I don’t know. I saw her minutes ago and she was perfectly fine, she ate her soup and I left.” Sarah told everyone, making it clear that nothing was going on whe
Jess felt so weak when she woke up, that she couldn’t even open her eyes. Which for her was a blessing, since at the side of her bed sat Joshua and Xavier. She recognizes Xavier’s voice immediately but tried to stay as calm as possible not wanting to blow her own cover.“How dare you place a camera in its cell” Xavier said furiously as he slammed his hand down on a hard surface. Jess was glad he had, because it hid the increasing beating of her heart on the machine next to her bed.“Please, brother! You are just mad, because of my camera, I know that you tormented her at night. Some nights so bad that you made her scream and cry. So do not pretend that I have crossed a line here!” Joshua shot back, it was the first time Jess had heard his voice, and even though she hated to admit it, his voice was also as sexy and deep like his brothers. If it was not what Joshua had said, jess would have only focused on the sound of their voices, bu
Matthew picked up the pen holder and chucked it at the wall of their office, leaving pens to fly everywhere.“Calm down, Matthew.” Raymond said as he rubbed his left hand over his lips. Thinking of a solution to their problem.“This girl is pissing me off at an entirely new level.” Xavier said as he sat behind his desk.“We need to go out and find her, she was injured and then jumped into a river, who knows in what state she is. I do not understand why we are just sitting here and doing knowing.” Matthew said angrily and hit his hand down on the desk next to him.“We need a plan, we can’t just search the entire river, plus we still don’t know where the border of our world and the human world line up. At least we should be happy that she can’t technically cross the river since it is the boarder to our territory and Red Oak pack’s territory. The boarder shields while only allow her to stay on
“That was quiet amazing little mouse.” Xavier spoke, Jess immediately remember the man from her interrogation. Her heart speed up and her palms became sweaty. She held her breath as he spoke again.“You do not know in how much trouble you are.” Xavier spoke in a low and deadly voice, that only made Jess more nervous than she already was. Xavier moved towards Jess, but she had already turned to run, she took two steps before he grabbed her by the back and pulled her towards him. He held her against his chest with one arm around her shoulders. Jess clawed at his hand, but he grabbed her hand and held it at her side. She took her free hand and grabbed another syringe from the white coats pocket, thanking herself, for already unwarping all of them the night before. She quietly moved and stick it in Xavier’s arm. Jess waited for his grip on her to loosen and for him to fall asleep, but too much time had pass with no reaction. Xavier chuckled and moved
Half of Jess’s face was on fire when she woke up. She could barely open her jaw, before her muscle screamed in protest. She wanted to move her hand to rub her face, but when she couldn’t her eyes shot opened. She found her hands tied to the bed and for a moment she had forgotten everything that had happened to her these past few weeks, instead her head went to one place and one place only – her father. Her fear was as clear as day. She jumped up and ripped at the ropes, the bed frame groaned as she ripped them forwards and backward, desperately trying to break free. Her eyes started to fill with theirs and she softly whisper, no, continuously as she fought the ropes.“You are wasting your time.” A man spoke and Jess jumped against the beds board as she got scared. She crawled as far as she could from the voice. Only when she saw four men, she relaxed and blinked trying to get rid of the tears so that she could see who they were. For a mi
“This is not a game, if you don’t tell us what we need to know, we will figure out a way to make you talk.” Matthew said as he sat on his chair and stared at Jess. She kept her head down determined not to answer any of their questions.“No food for two days.” Xavier declared as she stayed silent. He was at the edge of the bed, holding onto the bedframe.“Want to make it four days?” Joshua asked as he leaned against the dresser.“Just tell us what you know. We’ll start at the beginning; do you know what we are?” Raymond demanded, after that question Jess lifted her head and looked Raymond straight in the eyes and spoke only one word.“Monsters.” As soon as those words left Jess’s lips, Raymond moved forward, wanting to punish her for her disrespect, but Xavier beat him to the punch. He stormed over to her and grabbed the rope that was tied to the bed board. He ripped it lose, bre
“We need to come up with a plan. We clearly need to keep a better eye on her and when need to address the pack. They are not stupid; they have become very suspicious after the amount of lecturer at the school we missed and the sneaking around and weird commands we give them. Our pack members have always been trustworthy and obedient, but we might hurt our bond with them if we continue to lie to them.” Raymond spoke as the four of the boys sat in their office again.“We also need to figure out what we are going to do long term with her.” Matthew said and all of them sat and though for a while.“The fact that she is a human will not change and because of that she will always be a threat to us. We need to keep our enemy close and weak. Will move her up from the cells to our floor of the pack house and keep her busy up here. That way our wolves are more relaxed and so are we. But this does mean we should get close to her, just remember that.&r
