Vivian’s POV

I stared at my phone for a long moment before hitting FaceTime. Steven’s name blinked across the screen, his image appearing instantly, crisp and sharp despite the distance. Belgium looked calm behind him, a soft wash of evening light spilling across his apartment, but I couldn’t shake the tension in my chest.

“Hey,” he said casually, though I could hear the subtle tightness in his voice. “How are things over there?”

I took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. “Busy. Complicated.” I couldn’t find the words yet for the mixture of relief and worry that had settled inside me. “Ryan… everything he’s done today. I didn’t think he could, but he… he took over Crown Luxe. He’s officially CEO now.”

There was a pause on the other side. Then Steven’s lips pressed together, eyes narrowing slightly. “I figured that would happen eventually. He’s been planning this for months, hasn’t he?”

“Apparently.” I shifted in my seat, leaning back against the sofa, eyes tracing the edges of the ro

  • No Way to Win Me Back   Chapter 585

Celeste’s POVThe penthouse was quiet in the way only very high places ever were, removed from street noise, insulated from urgency, wrapped in a hush that felt deliberate. Night pressed softly against the glass walls, the city below scattered into constellations of light.I lay on my side, tucked into Ryan’s chest, his arm heavy and warm around my waist, the steady rise and fall of his breathing grounding me.This had become our favorite position without either of us naming it. Like many things lately, it had just… happened.“Molly fell asleep in under ten minutes,” I murmured, tracing a lazy line along the fabric of his T-shirt. “No negotiation. No extra stories. No dramatic sighs.”Ryan huffed a quiet laugh, the sound vibrating against my cheek. “I feel oddly proud.”“You should,” I said. “She likes it here.”“She likes you here,” he corrected gently.I tilted my head back to look at him. His face was half-lit by the city glow, all clean lines and thoughtful shadows.“She likes us,”

  • No Way to Win Me Back   Chapter 584

Celeste’s POVThe first thing I noticed was the silence. Not the empty kind, the kind that settles after a storm has passed and the air hasn’t yet decided how to move again.I stood in the glass-walled conference room at Rosemary Atelier, coffee cooling in my hand, and watched the city breathe below us. For the first time in months, my phone wasn’t vibrating with crisis alerts, supplier ultimatums, or legal landmines disguised as polite emails. We had done it.Piece by piece. Thread by thread. Contract by contract.Rosemary had its hands back on its own spine.Grace slid into the chair beside me, tablet tucked under her arm, her pregnancy glow sharpened by a very real, very hard-earned sense of victory. “I just got confirmation from the Antwerp stone cutters,” she said. “Exclusive supply restored. No shadow intermediaries. No ‘consultants.’ Just us.”I exhaled slowly. “That was the last one.”Rachel, already seated across from us, nodded. “I double-checked the revisions. Clean break. N

Celeste’s POVThe boxes lined the apartment hallway like a small, orderly army, labeled, taped, and stacked with a precision that betrayed how hard I was trying not to feel too much.Molly sat cross-legged on the living room floor, surrounded by open cartons, narrating her own excitement as she went. “This is my art stuff. This is my unicorn lamp. This is the sweater Uncle Ry-ry bought me that’s too big but he said I’ll grow into it.”Grace hovered nearby, one hand braced against her lower back, the other gripping a mug of ginger tea she hadn’t finished in an hour. Her eyes kept flicking around the apartment as if she were memorizing it for the last time.“You’re not dying,” she said faintly, as if reminding herself.“I know,” I said. “I’m moving twenty minutes away.”“Which is basically a different continent when you’re hormonal,” she replied, blinking rapidly.I stepped closer, lowering my voice. “Grace.”She looked at me then, really looked, and her face crumpled.“Oh God,” she said

  • No Way to Win Me Back   Chapter 582

Celeste’s POVThe building was quiet in a way Rosemary Atelier rarely was. After hours, the hum of creativity settled into something softer, machines powered down, lights dimmed to a warm glow instead of their usual brilliance. The air smelled faintly of metal, polish, and lavender cleaner. My studio sat at the far end of the floor, glass walls catching reflections of workbenches and half-finished designs like ghosts of earlier hours.I had asked Ryan to meet me here deliberately. This was where I had built myself back up. Where I made decisions that lasted.I heard his footsteps before I saw him, unhurried, familiar. He appeared in the doorway moments later, jacket slung over one shoulder, tie loosened, eyes searching mine with quiet attentiveness.“You sounded serious,” he said gently.“I am,” I replied. “Come in.”He stepped inside, the door closing softly behind him. For a moment, neither of us spoke. The silence wasn’t uncomfortable. It felt intentional.I leaned against the workt

  • No Way to Win Me Back   Chapter 581

Celeste’s POVBy the time I picked Molly up from school, the day already felt too loud. She came running out with her backpack bouncing against her shoulders, hair half-falling out of the braid I’d done that morning, grin wide and unguarded. That smile, so bright, so uncomplicated, grounded me instantly.“Mama Celeste!” she called, throwing herself into my arms like she hadn’t seen me in years instead of hours.“Hey, bug,” I said, laughing as I caught her. “Good day?”“The best,” she declared. “I got a star in math. And Auntie Gracie says stars are very serious business.”I smiled. Grace had that effect on children, making the world feel less sharp. We talked the whole ride home, Molly narrating her day with dramatic pauses and sound effects, until the car pulled up in front of my apartment building. I was halfway through reminding her to grab her lunchbox when I saw him.The journalist stood just beyond the entryway, leaning slightly forward, phone already in his hand, eyes lighting u

  • No Way to Win Me Back   Chapter 580

Celeste’s POVI went to my mother’s house because I needed quiet. Not the kind of quiet that presses in on you when you’re alone with your thoughts, but the lived-in stillness that smells like tea and lemon polish, where the furniture remembers your weight and nothing expects you to perform. Claire’s house had always been that for me, a place where time slowed just enough for truth to catch up.She was in the kitchen when I arrived, sleeves rolled up, hair pinned back loosely, moving with the familiar, unhurried competence that had raised me. The kettle was already on. It always was.“You look tired,” she said gently, not accusatory. Just observant.“So do you,” I replied, kissing her cheek. She smiled faintly. “Sit. I’ll pour.”We settled at the small wooden table by the window. Afternoon light slanted in, warm and forgiving. For a moment, we drank in silence, the way only people who have lived through things together can. Then she sighed.“Nicholas called again,” she said.I didn’t f
