Rocking Around the Christmas Tree

Lydia stared at the mess of tinsel on the floor before turning to the sisters.

"I'll... take care of that." Holly said, sitting on the floor by the fire and getting to work.

"Are we really going to need all that?" Sapphire huffed at Lydia's criticism and started putting most of the tree decorations back in the box.

"Done." Holly announced a few minutes later just as Sapphire and Lydia finished sorting the rest of the decorations into more reasonable amounts.

Holly had the three lengths of pink tinsel layed out on the floor and was staring at the two girls expectantly.

Sapphire sighed and held a hand out.

Holly gave her a piece of tinsel and stood up, Lydia staring up at the tree with her hands on hips, now that they were decorating it, the tree felt bigger, she jumped as tinsel was pushed into her hand.

"One each," Holly explained while Sapphire struggled to get hers high enough, instead of climbing like Melanie though, she held the tinsel up, then let go, instead of falling though, it just floated in the air, then drifted up and wrapped itself around the tree.

Sapphire walked around the tree, adjusting where it was needed.

Holly smiled and draped hers in line with Sapphire's, not bothering to use magic since her sister's ended well within reach.

From the kitchen, Melanie smiled as she listened to her friends, she glanced down and realised due to the size, the pearls would vanish against everything else.

'We can make them bigger when I'm done,' she thought, grabbing another pearl.

As much fun as this was, her friends weren't talking much, leaving it too quiet for her liking, Melanie put her pearl chain down and rummaged through the drawers, she was sure she'd seen a radio, if she could just find it...

"Mel, are you okay?" Holly asked, having heard the noise and come to investigate.

"Do you know where the radio is? I want to put some music on." Melanie asked, shutting the drawer in defeat.

"Oh, it's up in my room, I'll go get it." Holly said, running upstairs.

Melanie walked to the stairs and moments later, Holly appeared fiddling with a small black box, suddenly music filled the house, Melanie giggled as Holly quickly turned the volume down.

"Thanks Holly." Melanie said, taking the radio and flicking through the stations.

Melanie grumbled about it being December and no one was playing Christmas music. As she went to turn it off, she hit the wrong button and lo and behold, someone had the end of Jingle Bells on.

Melanie shot Holly a curious look, wondering if she used magic, Holly just shrugged and went back to the living room.

"Rocking around the Christmas tree, have a happy holiday~." Melanie sung as she went back to the kitchen.
