Chapter 35

SARAH

I don't know how long we've been running. Shortly after I lost sight of Jayson, I lost consciousness. I don't know who this guy is, but he's got a mean grip. When I come too, I'm hit with a sickening stench right under my nose.

It takes me a minute to realize I'm moving. I'm facing the ground and it's whizzing by me.

I feel fur under me.

As I come back to reality, I see I'm on the back of a rogue. Hog tied around his stomach.

"Wh..Wha..what?" I panic. Trying to move my hands and feet.

The beast I'm on growls and thumps his back. Jostling me. My guess to settle me down. Well fuck that noise.

I pull myself up and pull the rope up on his side.

The rope pulls his skin and fur and as my legs slip under him, he lost his focus and balance. We both veer off, skidding into the dirt. The rope snaps.

It takes a second for me to realize I'm free and I pull the ropes off. Running as fast as I can. Into the forest. I'm crying as I run. I don't know where I'm headed. Just anywhere, but here.
