Chapter 6

Charlotte’s point of view:

“I’m off to school mother” I say as I walk out the door not waiting for her reply. Recently they’ve been a lot of events that keeps on leading to various quarrels, and that for me is just not my way of starting any morning, I wait around the bushes in order to breathe fine, because, well I needed it, what better place to receive fresher air, that where trees are.

“I need to hurry up” with that thought in mind, I walk to the boredom that is school.

I make sure to pat my hair to arrange and pet any stray hair down, to where it’s supposed to be.

Not up to thirty minutes later I’m at school, staring at the sky, I take slow steps toward the school, only for be to get stopped by a pound of muscle, I smile when I perceive who.

“you need to stop coming late for school kid”

scolds Jeremy as he takes me opposite the building, Jeremy is the coach her, and surprisingly he is almost never around, even as an important official of the school.

“I have news from the house” he whispers, his face portraying seriousness.

“you’re up for a challenge, baby girl, I know it isn’t what you wanted or envisioned, but your presence is highly requested for at the house”

“what do you mean by that Jeremy, I don’t really understand you at this point”

“you know the tournament that happens” he asks.

“the one that determines who the future alpha and Beta would be?” I ask.

“yes, the one and only” he takes his hands off my shoulder and folds them, his muscles flexing in the process, kind of reminds me of the black guy.

“why would you do that?”

“my hands...” I look at him before completing my sentence.

“are not in that, you know I hate that, why would you even think of signing me up for that, you know my wolf is weak” I take one step toward the other direction leading to the school, but he takes a hold of my hands.

“you need to believe in yourself, your wolf might be weak, and your dad’s death might have been fishy but, we need you back there Charlie, for your safety” I look at him, his eye showing emotions I wouldn’t love to decipher.

“I would get back to you eventually Jeremy. I just can’t stand to think of going back” he nods in understanding and lets me go.

“I’ll keep reminding you of it kid” I nod my head, knowing he’s still looking at me.

“you know school doesn’t have to be as bad, as your face is putting it” a voice comes from behind me, knowing it is Camilla I walk faster, but oh it doesn’t work, she catches up to me, in a few strides.

“so, what we planning on doing today” I look at her and roll my eyes, it’s not like we are that close, I don’t even know why someone like her schools here, I mean she’s so rich.

“why don’t we go grab something to eat?” she asks.
