Chapter 7

Charlotte’s point of view:

It was dark at night when I saw hands holding me by the neck, it was so dark I wasn’t able to see them, but I felt them alright, their claws was sinking into my skin, my eyes are closed, I feel the blood draining out of my brain, I couldn’t stay longer, at least not in that position, else I would die.

My arms immediately fly up to my neck in an attempt to remove those cursed hands.

“you should really never sleep deep outside kid” I immediately come back to consciousness my mind now at ease.

“you kept me waiting for a long time Jeremy, what sup?”

“we had lots of things to settle at the pack house” he looks at me, and I already know what’s coming up.

“you need to get home, or at the very least you have to be present at the pack house come early tomorrow” I look at him anger written on my face.

Jeremy discards that and looks me straight in the eye, then he huffs and takes a seat on the grass, his golden eyes visible under the sun. that’s one thing I really like about him, his calm demeanor, he is currently in his half form, hairs almost covering one third of his face, he is almost always wearing his claws out, and then his eyes.

“there’s been hidden death, Charlie, there’s been deaths that have been covered up”

I look at him, already thinking of how to reply.

“what do you mean, I don’t... I don’t understand, what you mean by that”

“you know exactly what I mean charlotte, the whole pack house is in quiet shambles, no one wants to talk about the missing werewolves, we feel they are targeting wolves from our pack”

“what would you have me do Jeremy, I know someone there killed my dad, or at least was the cause of it. It’s not that easy to forgive, I can’t just waltz into that place looking so happy when I’m not, its not an advisable thing to do, and besides I have more enemies, there than anywhere else”

“I get your point, but I would never advice you to do something that wont ever be beneficial for both you and my mom... I and your dad, we shared a lot of things together, and I really did love him”

“he was a great man, I know, and I also know he had many enemies” he looks at me, and smiles.

“I remember when you were little, you had always been a child with lots of potential” and you know, we loved you, every part of me did at least.

“I’m aware you do Jeremy, but what about mom, she lost her biological daughter to Diana. And up until now, she hurts”

Jeremy gets up, his eyes looking everywhere but me. “we need to get going Charlie, something’s coming” he dusts his trousers and holds out his hand for me to take.

“what’s coming Jeremy?” I ask him.

“trouble, real trouble”
