Chapter 20: COULD THIS BE LOVE?

Joanna's POV

I looked sheepishly at him to verify his reaction, but he was so blunt and did nothing.

I know I made him feel uncomfortable as he averted his eyes from mine trying to avoid eye contact with me. When he could not, he spoke up changing the topic in the process.

" It's been a long time since we had fun together, Joanna. What is your plan for the week?" He asked me trying to divert my attention from the arrogant words he spoke earlier.

I wanted to press on and make him regret what he had said but on the other hand, I gave up and chose to answer his questions.

" I don't have a lot on my to-do list this week," I replied sadly but he didn't notice the sadness in my voice and I was glad he didn't.

The countdown had begun and I was expected to return to the hospital to get admitted for my treatment to commence. I would die anyways so let's just have fun once and for all, I thought.
