Chapter 13

Claudia's heart skipped a beat as she opened the door. To her surprise, it was Rolland standing on her doorstep. "What are you doing here? Are you spying on me now?" she asked, trying not to sound anxious.

Rolland didn't respond to her questions, but instead, walked inside to see Bryan. Bryan was taken aback by the stranger's sudden appearance. "Who are you?" he asked, looking at Rolland.

Rolland smiled and held Bryan's shoulders. "You are all grown up, my son," he said.

Claudia saw the confusion on Bryan's face and quickly clarified, "This is Senator Rolland, your biological father."

Bryan's expression changed from confusion to anger. "Did you invite him here? You should have let me decide if I wanted to see him, Mom," he said, his voice shaking with emotion.

Without looking back, Bryan stormed away, leaving Claudia and Rolland standing there in silence.
