Chapter 56

Bryan stepped into the pulsating rhythm of the club, feeling the bass thump through his chest as he melded into the energetic crowd.

He laughed with newfound friends, lost in the euphoria of the music and the moment. After a while he made his way to the sleek bar, ordering his drink, he leaned against the counter.

Taking in the scene around him, Bryan scanned the room, and there, across the dance floor, he spotted Gina with two of her friends. "Damn it! Isn't that Gina?" He thought eyes widened in shock.

His heart skipped a beat as memories flooded back, but he pushed them aside.

Bryan contemplated on whether to approach Gina or not, but a wave of hesitation washed over him. "I can't let her see me, I'll feel so embarrassed." He pondered and stayed put.

Frustrated, he sipped his wine, each sip heavier than the other. With a sigh, Bryan set the glass down, quietly slipping away from the bar. He made his way to the exit, his steps purposeful yet tinged with disappointment.
