58. Tests

A fresh bout of nausea woke me up and I sat upright on the bed hoping to chase it away before it escaped my throat. I closed my eyes against the sudden onslaught of light in the room. I had been sleeping on my stomach which had been extremely uncomfortable because I had to careful of my stomach but it really was the only way I could sleep to prevent running to the bathroom throughout the night.

The sheets were twisted into a tangled mess around my hips and feet. My arms and legs were hanging off the bed, one foot still dangling onto the floor with the toe pointed towards the bedpost. I waited for awhile and it subsided.

It came again, stronger this time and I made a run for the bathroom, emptying the contents of my stomach into the toilet. After that there wasn’t much left in me to expel, so I stayed bent over the bowl and tried not to throw up again.
