Chapter 66

Nyx's POV

I wasn’t entirely sure about what Kieran was saying, but if he believed it was right, then I had to trust him. He had led us through battles, through impossible situations, and somehow, we made it through. That had to count for something.

When we finally arrived back at the pack house, most of the pack members had already gone to bed. The house was quiet, peaceful, and for the first time in what felt like forever, there was no immediate danger lurking in the shadows.

But not everyone was able to rest.

Nicholas was still on edge. His paranoia about another attack wouldn’t let him relax. Even though we had won, he wasn’t taking any chances. He gathered most of the guards and positioned them outside, watching every corner of the territory, making sure no one could take us by surprise.
