Chapter 6

Matilda's heart sank as she heard the Alpha's words. She had a feeling that she wasn't going to like what he was going to say.

"I need you to stay at my house," Alpha Terry said. "As my personal omega."

Matilda's eyes widened in shock. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had always known that being the pack's omega meant that she was at the bottom of the hierarchy, but being the Alpha's personal omega meant that she was even lower than that.

"I...I don't understand," Matilda stammered, trying to find the right words to object.

"There's nothing to understand," Alpha Terry said, cutting her off. "It's a direct order. You'll be staying at my house from now on, and you'll be taking care of my needs as well as the pack's."

Matilda's mind raced as she tried to come up with a way out of the situation. But she knew that there was no way to argue with the Alpha. He was the most powerful werewolf in the pack, and his word was law.

"But what about my duties as the pack's omega?" Matilda asked, hoping to at least keep some semblance of her former life.

"You'll still be the pack's omega," Alpha Terry said. "But you'll also be taking care of my needs. I have a very important task for you, Matilda. The upcoming mating ball is a very important event for the pack, and we can't afford any mistakes. You'll be in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly."

Matilda felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. She knew that there was no way to argue with the Alpha. She had no choice but to comply with his orders.

"I understand," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Good," Alpha Terry said, his eyes never leaving hers. "You'll start tomorrow. You'll be escorted to my house, and you'll be staying there until further notice. Is that clear?"

Matilda nodded, her heart heavy with sadness and fear. She knew that her life was about to change forever, and she didn't know if she was ready for what lay ahead.

Alpha Terry stood up from his throne, indicating that their meeting was over. "Stella will show you to your room and tomorrow she'll give you a tour of the house," he said, gesturing to a woman who had just entered the room. "She's the head omega in my home, and you'll be working closely with her."

Matilda turned around to see a woman standing behind her. Stella was tall and lean, with piercing blue eyes and jet-black hair pulled back in a tight bun. She looked formidable and efficient, and Matilda felt a pang of nervousness as she approached her.

Stella gave her a small smile before leading her out of the room. As they walked down the hallway, Matilda couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding. She had heard stories about the Alpha's home and the way he treated his personal omegas, and none of them were good.

Stella led Matilda to a small room at the end of the hallway. "This is where you'll be staying," she said, opening the door and gesturing inside. "It's not much, but it's clean and comfortable."

Matilda stepped inside and looked around the room. It was small, with just a bed, a dresser, and a small table. But it was clean and neat, and she knew that she should be grateful for what she had.

"Thank you," she said quietly, turning back to Stella. "For showing me the way."

Stella gave her another small smile. "No problem. And don't worry, I'll show you the ropes tomorrow. Just try to get some rest for now."

Matilda nodded and watched as Stella left the room, closing the door behind her. She sat down on the bed, feeling a sense of sadness and fear wash over her. She missed her home and her family, and she couldn't believe that she was now stuck in this situation.

But then she remembered her mother's words. "You're made for greatness, Matilda. Don't ever forget that." She wiped away a tear and took a deep breath. She had to be strong. She had to make the best of this situation.

As she lay down on the bed, her thoughts turned to the upcoming mating ball. She knew that it was going to be a big event, and she didn't want to let the Alpha down. She had to do her best to make sure everything went smoothly.

But as she drifted off to sleep, she couldn't shake off the feeling that her life would never be the same again.

Matilda's sleep was plagued by nightmares. She tossed and turned, her mind filled with images of her parent's death. She saw their lifeless bodies lying on the ground, their blood staining the grass. She heard their screams of terror and pain echoing in her ears. The nightmares were vivid and terrifying, and she couldn't escape them.

Suddenly, she sat up in bed, gasping for air. Her heart was pounding in her chest, and she was covered in sweat. She looked around the room, trying to get her bearings. It took a moment for her to realize that she was in the Alpha's house and that her parents were long gone.

But the nightmares had shaken her to the core. She couldn't go back to sleep now. She got out of bed and walked over to the window, staring out into the darkness. She needed to calm down and clear her mind.

Just as she was starting to relax, she heard a knock on the door. "Matilda, are you okay?" It was Stella's voice.

Matilda took a deep breath and opened the door. "I'm fine, Stella. Just had a nightmare."

Stella looked concerned. "Do you want to talk about it?"

Matilda shook her head. "No, it's okay. Just a bad dream."

Stella nodded. "Well, if you need anything, just let me know."

Matilda smiled weakly. "Thanks, Stella. I appreciate it."

As Stella left the room, Matilda sat back down on the bed, her mind still racing. She knew that the nightmares were a sign of the stress she was under. She needed to find a way to cope with the pressure, or else she might lose her mind.
