We can't trust everybody.

Anastasia's POV.

Chi Chi knocked on the wooden door of the small hut for the umpteenth time, but the inhabitant had yet to open up. Impatiently, I sighed and rubbed my arms, which were almost freezing in the cold. As I had predicted, the storm had caught up with us. Chi Chi's friend's place was farther than I had thought, and the rain had beaten us for about an hour before we finally found shelter under the small shed in front of the hut.

"I don't know the reason for their delay. They are supposed to have opened up by now.” Chi Chi said. It was obvious she was getting impatient as well, it was written all over her scrunched face.

I turned around, forcing myself not to hiss out of annoyance. I hope these people still live here.

“What are you doing in front of my house?”

I could swear on the Moon Goddess that I felt my heart fly into my mouth. I wrapped Cho Chi's arm in a tight grip.
