Chapter 13: Can't remember anything

Catrina would not be willing to have breakfast with him if it were not necessary for her to do so to protect her daughter. This time they were in the dining room of the mansion, and only both of them were there.

"My mom is so happy to see you again," Carlo said as he took a sip of his drink.

He looked radiant this morning, which made him look even more gorgeous than usual. Catrina had to deflect her glance away from him so that she wouldn't be too captivated by his charm.

She realized that the well-being of his mother was very important to him.

So Catrina forced herself to smile since it was unethical to show a long face when others were feeling so happy.

"I'm glad to hear that."

But her voice was so flat in contrast to what she said.

She just couldn't bring herself to put on a cheerful facade, especially since she didn't know when she would be allowed to leave this place.
