"I won't tell you again, stay the hell away from my wife," Damon snapped, voice sharp enough to cut glass.

"She's not your wife anymore, you dumb fuck," Marcus shot back. "You lost that privilege the moment you divorced her."

"As if I give two fucks about that. We still have our kids. Something you’ll never have."

Marcus scoffed. "Oh yeah? And where were you when Jason needed a father? When he wanted someone to teach him how to ride a bike? Or when he got bullied in school for not having a dad? You were too busy fucking that bitch you called a wife."

Damon’s eyes darkened. He took two deliberate steps forward. "Careful, Marcus. I wouldn't want to rip your heart out in front of Amber."

Marcus stepped up to meet him, unflinching. "Oh yeah? I'd love to see you try."

Damon leaned in, his voice dropping low. "I don't care what you feel for Amber. She doesn't love you, and she made that damn clear the other night. Stay the hell away from her. I won't warn you again."

"What the hell was that, Damon? You could have killed her." Jake yelled as they stepped inside the study.Damon sighed and took off his jacket, "I really wished I had. Then we wouldn't be having this conversation."Jake sighed, and ran a hand over his face. "You really can't go around saying that, Damon. I know you only love Amber and you wish to get her back, but as far as the pack is concerned, Bella is still your wife and our Luna. Until she signs those divorce papers, you really can't lay your hands on her, or the council might have to step in.""The council?" Damon scoffed. "You really think I fear a room full of old men? Let them come, Jake. Let them try to take away the pack my father bled for."He crossed to the minibar, poured himself a measure of scotch, and drank it in one long pull."I understand how you feel, Damon. But you haven't been around enough to know what's been going on in the pack." Jake said, his voice softer now.Damon narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?"Ja

Jessie arrived at the top floor to find Amber's office empty. She spoke with Selene, her secretary, who confirmed she left the office thirty minutes ago.Jessie sighed, knowing there was only one place Amber could possibly be; at home, seeking comfort in her kids and a bottle. She drove straight to Amber's mansion. Half an hour later the guards let her in without a second glance. She stepped inside and found Amber on the floor beneath the mini bar, a half full glass beside her. Her face was wet with tears."Baby," Jessie said, sitting down and pulling her into a tight, trembling hug"It hurts so much, Jess. It hurts so fucking much." Amber sobbed into her shoulder."I know, baby. I know." Jessie caressed her hair. "I'm here.""This is why I never wanted him back. What do I tell the kids when they asked of their Dad? I promised them he'd come today. How do I tell them their father isn't coming?""We'll figure it out," Jessie said quietly. "We always do.""I feel so... ashamed. I can't

THE PACK HOUSE"I can't believe that worked, Dad. I'm so glad I listened to you and put that bitch in her place. I'm so happy right now." Bella practically squealed, swirling the wine in her glass as she recounted her encounter with Amber.Moore chuckled, pouring himself a glass. "I told you it would work. I'm glad you listened to me. Now that bitch will want nothing to do with Damon again.""Thanks, Dad. I'm so happy I listened to your advice. That bitch is nothing but a slut. She says she doesn't feel anything for Damon, but you should've seen her face when I told her I was pregnant. If I'd stayed even a second longer, she would have burst into tears." She laughed, basking in her victory."Of course, sweetheart," Moore said with a satisfied grin. "You're my only daughter. I'll do anything for you. That woman is nothing but a cheap slut. I still don't understand what the Moon Goddess saw in her to mate her with Damon in the first place.""Also, I've already spread the news of your pr

Twenty minutes passed before Amber finally reached for her phone and dialed Jessie's number.Jessie answered on the second ring, "Hello?"Amber didn't even wait for the small talk, "I told you Damon's nothing but a cheat and a liar. I told you he wasn't to be trusted. I can't believe I let you talk me into doing this." she cried."Whoa, whoa. Calm down, babe." Jessie said quickly, "Tell me what happened"Amber took a shaky breath, trying to steady herself. "I called him like you asked me to. I agreed to let him meet the kids and even arranged a time. Then that bitch walked into my office! She disguised herself as my cousin so no one would suspect anything and then she told me she was pregnant. Pregnant, Jess! And Damon's responsible.”"Oh my God…" Jessie's voice softened. "I'm so sorry, Bree. That must've been terrible.""I told you he couldn't be trusted," Amber said between sobs. "Damon's a liar. That's all he's ever been. He manipulates people, makes them let their guard down, and

Amber stood in the middle of her office, her chest still heaving from speaking to Damon. His number was still glowing on her phone screen, unsaved. She couldn't bring herself to save it. Not yet.Not when the fear still lingered. She stared at the screen for a few seconds before finally setting the phone down on her desk. After two days of relentless pleading, Jessie had finally convinced her to let Damon see the kids. She had been reluctant at first, but she'd eventually caved after realizing the kids were still holding a grudge on her. She decided to call Damon, set up a meeting, and let him know his boundaries. She glanced at her watch. She still had an hour left before noon. With a deep breath, she sat down on her office desk and opened her laptop, skimming through the morning headlines. It was supposed to be an ordinary morning, until a knock sounded on her door."Come in," she said. The door opened, revealing her secretary, Selene."Sorry for the intrusion, Ma'am," Selene said

TWO DAYS LATERDamon smiled as he glanced at the documents in his handsThere were divorce papers, delivered personally by his lawyer, Adrian Pierce. Now, all that was left was to show them to Bella and get her to sign. He inhaled deeply, feeling the heat rising in his chest. Ever since she became Luna, She had been nothing but a thorn at his side. A woman who had done nothing but destroy his marriage. After tonight, she'd be gone from his life. Gone from his home. For good.He had just pulled off his tie when his phone buzzed. He pulled it out of his pocket, expecting to see his assistant's name, Gabriel, flashing on his screen, but it wasn't.An unknown number. Damon hesitated before swiping to answer. "Hello?""Hi," the soft, calm voice on the other end froze him in place.Damon's knees almost gave out."Oh my god... Bree! Hi. How are you feeling? Are the kids okay? Is Jason alright? And Jessie... are they...""They're fine," she cut in sharply. He heard her sigh before she conti
