Once Innocent

CHAPTER ONE

Isabella’s POV

I yawn with a stretch after waking up from my sweet dream. My eyes drowsing sleepily as I turned off the alarm beside my bed.

Life isn’t all it seems to be and I’m glad it never took itself harshly on me right from onset. I have everything I will rather call happiness.

I stood up from my bed and checked the time.

Oh I still have a lot of time. I took my phone to message my boyfriend, Kelvin to greet him a happy morning and wish him best of luck for the rest of the day.

After dropping the text message, I dropped my phone and went into the bathroom and freshen up. My normal everyday routine was always one of the best thing to me. I’ve gotten so used to this simple lifestyle of mine.

After bathing,I walked back into my room to dress up.

I settled for a tight ripped jean with a t shirt then a sandals before going out after taking my bag and phone which I dropped on the phone earlier.

That's how I live my life. Yes like I said earlier, a simple lifestyle with no stress but unlimited happiness.

My name is Isabella Maze, I'm 20 years old. I don’t really think anything is special about me except for some facts.

I'm the only daughter of my parents and I'm currently working at the five star restaurant,a popular restaurant for the riches.

Both celebrities and billionaires comes there to eat and i feel like I'm the luckiest person in the world to be working there.

I have a boyfriend, Kelvin, whom I love very much , he’s the one I messaged just every morning to wish him luck in whatever he does for the day and a best friend, Mandy.

These four are the most important in my life and I love them all very much just like how much they love me.

I plugged in my earpiece listening to one of my favorite song by my favorite artist Like you by Tatiana.

I smile walking towards the restaurant with my long brown hair flowing due to the air. Tomorrow is weekend and also my birthday which means an off for me.

I can't wait to surprise my boyfriend tomorrow, I've missed him so much. I last saw him last weekend, due to the work I do, I mostly get off at night and during the weekends.

I giggled to myself before checking my time. Tomorrow will definitely be one of the best day of my life, I must be overly excited due to the stuffs I want to do tomorrow.

"Gosh! I need to walk faster." I thought after checking back my time and began to jog towards the restaurant.

In no time,I got to the restaurant, I relaxed my mind a bit before walking in and went into the kitchen to change back my cloth. We have a special room just after the kitchen, we are allowed to wear house wear in and change to the restaurant uniform after getting in.

"Good morning Lacey." I greeted smiling before dropping my small bag which only consist of my wallet and some cash.

"Morning Bella!" She greeted back and winks at me jokingly, there are lots of characters here in Five star.

Lacey is also working here and she's my best after Mandy. We aren’t really close but she do help me out with my work at the restaurant and also save me from the born bitch, Diana.

"Oh before I forget,the manager wanna see you." She said looking at me , I was trying to zip up my skirt which I did seconds later.

"Oh." I mouthed buttoning up my shirt, I rearrange my polo before tying up my hair in a bun.

I dropped the earpiece into my small bag before keeping it in my desk. “Thanks.” I said to her.

I got out of the kitchen and walked towards the manager's office road, I got there in two minutes. I readjusted my dress before knocking on his door.

"Who's that?" His loud voice was heard, even though we had all our privileges. We all have ranks. Diana serves the VIP section while we stick to the normal ones.

"It's Isabella boss." I said politely as I could. Since I got hired here, I’ve always wanted to serve in the VIP section but that’ll only be possible if I’m promoted.

"Oh come in dear." He said, I opened the door and went in. He closed the little laptop in front of him and settled his eyes on me.

I moved closer to his desk and stopped then bowed my head in respect, Diana doesn’t do all this yet she get promotion everytime.

Rumors has it that she’s dating the manager. But I’ve not caught them together, however her reaction at times to the manager is always outrageous.

"Good morning boss." I greeted cheerfully, I couldn’t say out his behavior as I was staring at the ground. "Morning Bella." He answered

I raised my head up to meet his eyes and he was smiling. My mind calmed down a bit. I sincerely thought I did something wrong.

"You called me sir?" I said more like a question to serve my curiosity.

"Yes dear."

"There's a bit change in shift today so you'll be replacing Diana at the VIP section and she'll be replacing you in the kitchen." he said.

"Sorry?" I questioned.

"You'll be the one serving the VIP today while Diana will be in the kitchen replacing you." He explained.

My mouth dropped in shock, he wasn’t joking. He really wasn’t joking. My tears was almost dropping but I controlled myself.

"Oh my gosh,thank you so much sir!" I said almost in tears

"It's nothing Isabel,you've been one of the best staff here and I think you deserve this." He smile

The door was opened and Diana barged in angrily

She glare at me before walking to the manager

"What's the meaning of the trash I'm hearing" She asked fuming

"Diana where are your manners" I tried cautioning her

"Oh really" She laughed dryly at me, her eyes glaring hard as she run her mouth without stopping, "Who do you think you are huh"

"You've opened your bitchy legs for him right..."

Before she could finish her statements,I slapped her hard across her cheek

"I can accept anything but not you calling me a bitch" I glare at her back

Diana has always been my rival since we started working here and I don't know why. She hate me really much and I felt baffled why

"Bella,you can go,I'll deal with her." The manager said

"Okay sir." I smile before walking out closing the door behind me,I'm sure it'll have locked by now

"Why don't you stay and listen." My mind said

I placed my head on the door and listened very carefully

"Why will you switch me with her even when you know how much I hate her..." I heard Diana voice

"Oh" I thought

"Diana,you know I can never hurt you,you see those coming to the VIP today to eat are dangerous and they don't get easily satisfied "

"One of them is the main owner of this restaurant" He said.

My smile vanished immediately I heard what he said, "He made me a bait" I thought almost breaking down in tears.

But no, I’ll prove them wrong

I drag my leg back to the kitchen and change to a VIP waiter clothes, I checked the likely dishes they may ask for and started preparing.

Diana came in soon with a wicked smirk, "Wish you luck Isabel" She mocked.

I rolled my eyes and continue with what I'm doing

I finished it all and smile happily.

"Great" I said and checked my time.

Just an hour left, I can just go out to buy an ice cream.

I rinse my hand then went out, My phone rang in my pocket and I picked it up, "Why's he calling me right now " I thought.

Ny boyfriend is the one calling and that surprised me a lot

I picked it happily even though I'm still surprised.

"Babe." His cool voice came in

"Honey." I said

"Are you at the restaurant?" He asked and I was shocked

"It's still morning babe." I said

"Oh yea,sorry "

"Talk to you later." He said

"Are you okay?" I asked

"Yea,why." He answered

"You're behaving weird" I shrugged even though he couldn't see me

"Nothing babe,im fine"

"My boss is calling me,talk to you later,love you" He said and drop the call before I could say anything

"Well..." I stood confused for a while before remembering the VIPs will soon be here

"Gosh,silly you Isabel" I said tapping my forehead before going back into the restaurant

I was unable to buy the ice cream but it's fine by my hormones

I laughed at my own funny remark

"Ella,where are you all this while,gosh" Lacey's voice bought me out of my thought

"Like?!" I raised my brow confused

"The VIPs are here Ella" She shouts

"What?"
