Peyton

Alpha Killian's mansion is even bigger than that of my former Alpha. I can't start going into details about what the mansion looks like, but it's more like that of a mansion in a fairy tale.

A six-story building that can house over a thousand wolves. There's a fountain of wolves, and statues of the moon Goddess, the Sun God, and werewolves who were recognized as heroes thousands of years ago.

I haven't been inside the house. I'm still too scared to take a step out of where I was dropped off two hours ago.

The pork-roasting sun is doing an awful job of heating me violently, causing my body to feel gummy and itchy because I haven't had any bath since last night.

Freya is currently on cloud zero because it's been a while since I shifted into her and let her stretch or run, so it's more like she's unhappy with me.

There's a massive garage with roughly a hundred cars and a garden.

I feel so out of place because I am still in my pajamas and I haven't showered or brushed my teeth. Although I am feeling a tad thankful that Alpha Killian spared my life, but then a slave's ranking is low compared to that of an Omega.

A teenage boy of about thirteen years comes to meet me at the Balcony where I am standing, with the maids throwing weird glances in my direction.

"Hi, I'm James. You must be Peyton." He offers me a warm smile, displaying his rabbit-like incisors then shoves his phone into his pants pocket. His honey-brown hair has a little swoosh in front of his forehead, and he has freckles on his face, mostly his nose. He's wearing a suit and looks professional like the rest of the guards which makes me wonder if he works for Alpha Killian when his age mates are in school by now.

"Yes," I reply, then give him a tiny smile despite I want to just crawl up in a corner and hide away from everyone.

"I just got off the phone with Alpha Killian. He assigned me to you, I'll be your guide so you won't get lost here because as you know, this place is considered one of the largest in the whole of Chicago." He stops talking then gives out a slight shoulder shrug, before winking at me.

Hugging my arms around my body because of the sudden cold that washes over me, I narrow my eyes in puzzlement at how professional James sounds. It seems he was employed by Alpha Killian to work here.

"I'll tell you the do's and don'ts here. And what will be your duty concerning Alpha Killian, since he mentioned that you're his slave."

"Oh." That's all I can say before I swallow a lump stuck within my throat.

Immediately James turns around and starts heading towards the main entrance of the building that has several armed guards in front. I am wondering why they even have guns with them when they're capable of shifting and killing a vampire or enemy wolf within seconds.

James suddenly stops walking and throws me a glance through his shoulder.

"Follow me." He whisper-yells.

And I gulp before placing one unsteady foot after the other until I reach the point where he's waiting for me.

The guards shoot me an odd look, although I won't blame them because I am still in my pajamas with messy hair. The news about me must have spread like wild. fire.

The heavy doors give out a loud noise as they're being pulled open by James, and I swallow a gasp when I take in view of the entrance.

Spotless marble tiled floors, huge chandeliers on the coved ceiling, two coupled giant stairs. The walls are designed with several paintings of Norse Mythological beasts, with the Moon Goddess over the moon in the sky.

"Nice view, yeah?" James asks when we're fully inside.

"Breathtaking." I choke out, wondering why tears are building up in my eyes in the first place.

"Let's get you to the kitchen," James smirks, then leads the way to the kitchen which is quite a distance from the main entrance.

"Alpha Killian likes his meal Lukewarm." He tells me when we are inside. The cooks and kitchen assistants are preparing quite a feast in the large kitchen.

"After his wolf stretches and goes for the morning run, you're to provide the wolf with a large pound of fresh meat. Not to worry about where to get the fresh meat, there's a freezer where the meat is preserved. Afterward, you make coffee for him. All black, no cream not sugar except you want him to spit it right into your face." He chuckles. "All black coffee is to keep him sane. Then you're to take his breakfast to his room if he chooses not to have breakfast with his men in the dinning." James shoots me a look for me to realize what he means. "There are times when these men are too loud and Alpha Killian chooses to be alone."

Slowly, I give him a firm nod, and he closes the kitchen doors.

"Where are we headed?" I ask, trailing behind him as he yet again takes another angle and starts ascending the stairs.

"To the Alpha's chamber."

While I stay silent. My feet are beginning to hurt because I have been walking around without any shoes or flip-flops.

"Here it is," James announces in a baritone voice as he pushes the tall and wide doors open.

My jaw touches the floor at the extreme luxury as I walk through Alpha Killian's chamber.

The crimson curtains are wide open, making the sun reflect on the glass walls through the tall windows. The giant king-size bed has a nude velvety duvet with big patches of flowery designs. With fluffy pillows having the same look as the sheet covers. There's a fireplace, a red velvet couch with gold designs, and a small shelf of books. Then a balcony with chairs, a table, a telescope, and transparent nude curtains temporarily replacing the ajar balcony doors.

"That expression on your face is the kind that settles on anyone who steps foot in here." Jame snaps me out of my admiration for Alpha Killian's room.

"Since you're the Alpha's personal slave, you'd have access to this room. You must call in the maids to do his laundry and keep the room tidy."

"I don't feel so good about this," I confess, rubbing the side of my arm because I can't bear the thought of always making my way in here and seeing Alpha Killian.

"Relax," James tells me with a chuckle. "Alpha Killian is very strict, but he doesn't bite alright?" He assures me.

"Now, let's get you settled in your room. Shall we?"
