Chapter Fifty Eight- Warnings and Threats

“Are we safe in here?” Marcus whined, studying his mum and Nick.

“You're always late, Marc. So much to counter an invitation. I pray you don't be late on your wedding.” Ava scolded.

“Man's definitely gonna be late on his wedding day and the bridegroom will be forced to marry the best man.” Nick cut in.

Everyone in the room laughed loudly, especially Lena.

“Hi Nick, good to see you again.” She winked at him.

“Good to see you too.” He replied casually.

“Is she the one?” Ava asked Marcus when the laughter had obviously subsided.

“Certainly.”

“Come join us at the table. It's a pleasure meeting you.” She smiled at Lena.

“More of my pleasure ma'am.” She hugged her and followed her to the table, saying hello to her husband.

“You're most welcome, have a seat.” Nick's father said firmly.

“Hello Cassie.” She extended her hand to her.

“Hi Lena.” She took it without hesitating.
