After staggering through the hotel hallway under the influence of alcohol, the woman let out a small laugh when she found the door to her room locked. Her head was still pounding, and her vision had begun to blur. For a moment, she couldn’t even see the room number clearly. All she could do was press the doorbell repeatedly, hoping someone would open the door.
“Tsk, you idiot, Jeslyn. Obviously no one’s going to open the door. I’m the only one staying in this room,” she muttered, reaching into her handbag for the key, her body slumping against the door for support.
Suddenly, the door opened—and Jeslyn, unprepared, stumbled forward.
“Akh!” Jeslyn yelped as she fell into someone’s strong arms.
She really couldn’t see anything. Her vision was hazy, like a screen covered in fog. She frowned, trying to focus, but all she could make out were vague shapes. The man's face in front of her looked like an abstract painting—there were outlines and colors, but no details her eyes could grasp. It was only when the man moved his hands that she could somewhat follow his motions.
She felt frustrated, desperate to focus her gaze and recognize the person before her, but it seemed impossible at the moment.
“Ugh… why does my head hurt so much?” Jeslyn mumbled, still unaware that she was in someone’s arms.
“Tsk. Are you drunk?” came the man’s deep voice as he continued to hold her.
“Hmm… Looks like I drank too much. And it’s all your fault!” Jeslyn slurred, pointing at the man—though she missed the target entirely, as her vision swam and the man’s form seemed to multiply before her eyes.
“My fault?”
“Yes! This is all because of you!” Jeslyn snapped, her face flushed and her gaze unfocused. “Ugh, damn… my head’s killing me.”
“I’ll take you to your room. You entered the wrong one,” the man said in a flat tone.
“I did? No wonder I couldn’t open the door,” Jeslyn replied hoarsely.
He tried to guide her back to her room, but before the door could open, Jeslyn suddenly grabbed the man’s shirt collar tightly and yanked him close.
“Listen to me! You’re not allowed to love another woman. Do you hear me? Only me. You’re only allowed to like and love me. I forbid you to love anyone else!” she shouted.
The man stayed silent for a moment before finally replying, his voice low and husky.
“And what if I refuse?”
“I’ll kill you!” Jeslyn threatened, making the man chuckle.
“Why are you laughing? I’m serious! I’ll kill you if you mess with me!” she warned again.
Before the man could respond, Jeslyn suddenly stood on tiptoe and pressed her lips to his. She didn’t want to miss the moment. At first, it was just a light kiss—as if stolen amidst the chaos. But then, the man grabbed her by the back of the neck, deepening the kiss and adding heat to their already charged moment. The world around them faded, leaving only the two of them caught in a whirlwind of passion.
“You’re lucky. I like your scent—even when you’re drunk,” he whispered.
And without wasting time, the man silenced Jeslyn’s lips again with a deeper, more demanding kiss, and she responded with equal intensity. The alcohol on both their breaths only fueled their desire, sending it spiraling out of control.
Without breaking the kiss, he gently guided Jeslyn’s body to the bed. His lightly bearded lips brushed against her skin, teasing her until she arched her back, giving him access to explore her further.
Jeslyn had no memory of how things had escalated to this point. All she remembered was attending a welcoming party with her fiancé, Jefran, in honor of his half-sister who had just returned from abroad.
But Jeslyn had been neglected. Jefran was too busy mingling with his old acquaintances. She had watched him walk into the garden with another woman—and then, to her horror, she saw him kiss her.
Jeslyn’s heart shattered.
In a daze of pain and betrayal, she drank excessively and ended up drunk.
Her dazed thoughts were abruptly interrupted when her dress was ripped off—and the night turned into something she didn’t even fully comprehend. A night she had spent with a stranger whose face she still couldn’t see clearly.
“Ugh, that hurts! Slow down. You’re hurting me!” Jeslyn complained as pain surged through her lower body.
“Hmm? So this is your first time,” the man murmured against her ear.
“Yeah… I only wanted to give it to you.”
“Alright then. Since you said that, I’ll be gentle. And I’ll make you feel even more intoxicated,” he whispered.
And just like that, the pain melted into pleasure—pleasure Jeslyn had never known before.

The sudden ring of her phone jolted Jeslyn awake that morning. Her head was still pounding from the alcohol she had consumed the night before, but the persistent ringtone forced her to open her eyes. She looked around and traced the sound to her handbag. Jeslyn reached for her phone and answered the call.
“Hello…?”
“Jes, where are you? I’ve been trying to reach you. I even went to your room, but you weren’t there,” said a man’s voice from the other end, causing Jeslyn to frown.
She recognized the voice instantly, and her eyes snapped open.
“Jefran?”
“Yes, it’s me. Who else would it be? Where the hell have you been, Jes?” Jefran asked.
“M-Me?”
Jeslyn struggled to recall the events of the previous night. But judging by her bare body, she was certain what had happened wasn’t a dream. She assumed the man she had spent the night with was Jefran.
"If this is Jefran… then who was the man I was with last night?" she thought in panic.
Her heart started pounding wildly. Something was terribly wrong. Jeslyn quickly turned to her side—and at that very moment, it felt like her entire world came crashing down. The man lying asleep beside her was none other than Leonel Orion Clovis, Jefran Clovis’ stepbrother and the center of attention at last night’s party.
"H-How is this possible?" she screamed inwardly, covering her mouth in shock.
Jeslyn’s body trembled as she stared at Leonel, who was still deep in sleep. Without wasting another second, she decided she had to escape before he woke up, praying he wouldn't remember anything from last night—even though that hope felt nearly impossible.
Jeslyn cursed under her breath when she saw her dress from the night before had been ripped by Leonel and was now unwearable.
“So impatient… did he really have to destroy a ten-thousand-dollar dress?” she muttered, hastily picking up Leonel’s shirt from the floor.
After slipping on his shirt, Jeslyn grabbed her handbag and shoes. She tiptoed toward the door but paused right before stepping out. She glanced one last time at Leonel, still asleep on the bed.
“I hope you don’t remember anything about last night. After all… I’m your sister-in-law,” Jeslyn whispered, then quietly slipped out of the room.

"Mr. Leonel..."The voice made Leonel look up, and his eyes immediately landed on Jeslyn, standing not far from him.Without thinking, he rushed over and scanned her from head to toe.“Are you okay?” he asked—not in his usual sharp tone, but with genuine concern. Deep concern.Jeslyn, still startled, simply nodded. “I... I’m fine. Just shocked, that’s all. Thankfully, I managed to dodge it.”Leonel reached for her wrist, checking as if searching for any sign of injury. The touch made Jeslyn’s heart pound wildly. She tried to gently pull her hand away, but he held it a moment longer. Their eyes met—just for a second—but it felt like much longer.Meanwhile, Mike and Edric were already helping the workers clean up the fallen boxes. The forklift operator stood with his head bowed low, clearly terrified of getting reprimanded.“Who’s in charge of this area?” Leonel asked sharply.“I am, sir!” one of the supervisors responded nervously.“Apply sanctions according to protocol. Make sure this
Jeslyn had just stepped out of the car when the sound of factory machines and the scent of metal filled the air. The morning was still damp with dew, and the sky hung gray, as if harboring a bad omen. She glanced at her watch—exactly 7:00 a.m.Before she could take another step, the roar of a black car engine halted nearby. From it, Leonel stepped out first, followed by two men: Edric, his impeccably dressed and composed personal assistant, and Mike, a broad-shouldered aide with sharp, alert eyes.Their gazes met briefly—cold and wordless. Jeslyn quickly looked away and lowered her eyes to the marble floor.Without a word, Leonel walked past her and headed straight toward the main factory building. Seeing this, Jeslyn hurried to follow. The head of production greeted them warmly, bowing politely. “Good morning, Mr. Leonel. We’ve prepared the reports and are ready to begin the inspection at any time.”“Take me straight to the production area,” Leonel said curtly, his tone firm as alway
Jeslyn took a deep breath, trying to steady her breathing. Her shoulders trembled, but her eyes remained fixed on the door now firmly shut. Anger, frustration, and fear mixed into a chaotic storm within her chest. After regaining some composure, she returned to Jefran’s office.“You’re back? That took a while. What were you and my brother talking about?” Jefran asked, his eyes narrowing with suspicion.Jeslyn felt like she was trapped in a web woven between two men—both of whom made her feel equally frustrated.“I was just explaining the risks we face if Valchev gains full access to Clovies,” Jeslyn replied calmly. “I only wanted to help.”“I heard you shouting… that I’m your fiancé. Why did you say that?” Jefran asked, puzzled.“Yes… because Leonel was accusing me of overstepping by helping you. I got upset and blurted it out. After all, you are my fiancé—I couldn’t just let you face trouble alone,” Jeslyn said, forced to lie.Jefran was moved by her words. He rose from his chair and
Jeslyn instinctively stepped away from the desk, as if needing to create a safe distance between herself and Jefran. Her heart was racing—not out of guilt, but because of Leonel’s sharp, icy gaze that seemed to pierce through every hidden layer of their secret.“Leonel,” she murmured.Leonel closed the door slowly, then entered with steady, deliberate steps. His gaze moved from Jeslyn to Jefran, and back to Jeslyn.“Do you know what time it is? You should’ve gone home by now, Jeslyn. And you, Jefran—you’re not even supposed to be here. You’re suspended.”Jefran’s jaw clenched, but he remained seated. “I know. But I have to fix the mistake I made.”Leonel raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. “By conspiring behind my back with Jeslyn?”Jeslyn exhaled sharply and stepped forward, her voice firm.“We’re not conspiring, Leonel. We’re trying to prevent a disaster. The contract with Valchev—there’s manipulation involved. They trapped Jefran. We’ve found the first pieces of evidence and tomorrow w
"You can start by showing that you’re capable of fixing your mistakes," Jeslyn said gently. "A suspension isn’t a death sentence. Leonel just wants you to pause, reflect, and prove that you’re still trustworthy."Jefran looked up. "How?""Take corrective action. Gather all the documents related to the Valchev deal. Trace the money flow. Look for a legal loophole to cancel the contract. If you can show you have the courage to turn this around, Leonel will see it too.""But… I don’t even know where to start."Jeslyn paused for a moment, then said firmly, "We can start tonight. I’ll help you work through it. But after that, you have to be brave enough to take responsibility. No hiding behind your father's name or your brother’s shadow."Jefran fell silent, then slowly nodded. "Okay… tonight."Jeslyn nodded back with a soft smile.“I feel calmer now. Thank you for listening to me,” Jefran said sincerely."You’re welcome.""I’ll come by your office later," he offered."No need. Once I fini
Cold water splashed Jeslyn’s face, but it wasn't enough to calm her racing heart. Her eyes stayed fixed on the mirror, staring at the woman who looked strong on the outside but was silently battling deep wounds and overwhelming guilt."You’re like morphine to me..."Leonel’s words weren’t just a metaphor. To Jeslyn, they were a curse—chains that kept her trapped in a cycle of attraction, fear, and helpless submission.“He’s not just my future brother-in-law…” she whispered, her fingers gripping the edge of the sink until her knuckles turned white. “He’s a poison that makes me want more… and run as far away as I can at the same time.”The bathroom door creaked slightly. Someone entered.Jeslyn quickly straightened up and wiped her face with a tissue. She put her professional mask back on—cold, composed, untouchable.A female employee greeted her politely before heading into one of the toilet stalls.Jeslyn now felt more refreshed, her heartbeat finally steadying. She glanced at her lip
