Lindsay's Pov

I ignored Bishop and walked toward the coffee table.

“Don’t make me say it twice,” he warned again, his voice echoing in my mind.

I put Jude down and wanted to sprint upstairs after taking a few deep breaths.

A man suddenly grabbed my arm and dragged me into a room.

“Ahh!” Just as I was about to scream, I smelt a familiar scent.

“Shut up. It’s me.”

Bishop’s voice. It was him.

I turned my head and glared at Bishop. “Are you nuts?”

His face darkened as if a storm was coming. The look on his face scared me, but I pretended to be calm.

“What do you want from me?” I asked.

He handed me a document.

“Sign it,” he said indifferently.

It was that agreement again.

I flew into a rage. “I’ve already promised you. There is no need to sign this ridiculous contract.”

What on earth was this? Selling myself?

He grunted coldly. “It’s better to have everything written down in papers lest you harbor unnecessary expectations.”

Unnecessary expectations?

I sneer. This man was very good-looking
