Chapter One

Alexander tossed frantically on the king sized bed, his eyes tightly shut. Beads of sweat formed on his head despite the cold temperature in the room. Another repetition of the same horrible episode of his past, playing in his subconscious as he slept. He tossed and turned, gripping the blanket so tight. Tears streamed down his cheeks from his tightly shut eyes. He had not slept long before entering this horrible scenario.

Before him in his vision was the lifeless body of his twin brother, blood flowing freely from the back of his head as he laid on the floor. Alexander could see himself in that vision, as he stood paralyzed, staring at his dead brother. He could hear a lady's voice, "he is dead. Alexander, he is dead. Oh my God! You killed him" she kept repeating.

'It's an accident' he heard his mind say, but his body did not move from his position. His mind just kept replying to the lady's words, 'It's an accident'....

The scene changed. Alexander was now in his room. Everywhere was dark save a little beam of light coming in from an unknown source. Alexander stood in the centre of the room and before him was his brother, standing and covered in blood. His countenance was horrid, his eyes were bloody and blood flowed from his nose and the corner of his lips. Alexander stood before his brother, scared and guilty. He wanted to run, to leave the room but he could not. It was as though his feet were firmly stuck to the floor. He thought of what to do but there was nothing coming to his mind. His brother moved three steps closer to him. Alexander could feel his heart pounding as his face was just a breath away from the horrifying face of his brother.

"Why, Alex, why?" his brother asked. As he spoke, blood flowed more from his mouth. The blood spilled on Alexander's body and he was the more horrified.

"Why did you do this to me? I'm your brother, your twin. Your flesh and blood. Why would you kill me just like that. Why did I do to you?" His brother spoke again with a strange kind of emotion that sent shivers down Alexander's spine.

Alexander managed to speak, "I'm sorrAndre...it…it was an accident. I….I….." he dropped to his knees, sobbing violently. Tears flowed down his eyes freely.

"LIAR!" The shout from the dead man startled Alexander that he started shaking rigorously out of extreme fear.

"You're a LIAR!" The dead repeated and stretched his hand to touch Alexander when we jolted out of his nightmare.

Alexander was in deep sweat, panting profusely. He took some minutes to regain his composure from the noxious experience. He brought his knees to his chest as he sat on the bed and hugged them tight. The memories of the real life experience came back to him and tears flowed from his eyes. He lifted his head and looked at his bed clock, the clock showed 12:37am. He groaned very loud, rubbing his head. The memories still flashing in his mind and he was trying very hard to push it away but the more he tried the stronger it came in his head. Frustrated, he screamed and cleared all the things on one of the bedside cupboards to the floor, making a loud clattering sound. He stood up from the bed and made his way to the light switch on the wall. He turned on the lights and dashed into his closet. Few seconds later, he came out with new clothes, a jean bottom and a red shirt. He was not going to stay there and allow those thoughts to kill him. He knew the perfect place to go to feel better and remove that incident from his mind. After all, it was a damn accident. He never meant to kill his brother. They had a fight and his brother fell and hit his head hard and died. He did not kill his brother and he is not a murderer. He walked out of the room, grabbing his car keys from the table as he walked out.

Minutes after, Alexander pulled up in front of one of the classiest pubs in town. That was his favourite pub. He walked in with people hailing him from the entrance. Drinking, partying and ending the whole affair with a woman in bed was the way he usually gets over his trauma. That was what he was going to do that night. He reached the bar and ordered three bottles of his favourite drink, very expensive. He went to a seat and waited as the waiter served him his drinks. He consumed a bottle then half of the second bottle and slowly he was feeling peace in his mind. He sighed, relieved of the popping thoughts in his head and mind.

"Hi Alex" he heard and turned left to see a familiar lady. He smiled.

"Hi Georgina!" he replied.

"I thought you weren't coming in today" she sat beside him.

"I changed my mind" Alexander replied with a little smirk on his face.

Georgina placed one or her arms around Alexander and with her other hand started caressing his chest very seductively.

"So…." She began, "What are your plans for tonight?" She asked.

"Well" he adjusted on the seat, facing her, "I want to finish my drink, also drink some more, have a nice time on the dance floor and since you're here…" he paused, stroking her chin and lips as he stared at her luring lips, "I'll end this night with you in my arms in some nice hotel" he completed.

Georgina had a smile on her face. She brought her face closer and gave him a light kiss on his lips.

"So shall we begin?" She asked.

"Sure baby" Alexander replied and then shouted for the waiter to get him and Georgina lots of shots.

That was Alexander's daily routine, to ease the burden of the guilt that tormented him every time.
