Chapter 10

Basil

I help Layla into the tub filled with warm water. Grabbing a sponge I soak it in water and begin to clean her body. I clean the grime from her, I clean the dirt from her hair until the water is so dirty you can't see through it. Unplugging the drain, two months worth of filth goes down the drain. I wrap her in a towel and sit her on the bed, getting a comb I start to take out the tangles in her hair. Letting the towel fall I observe her back, scars mar her body, some fresh and some are raised not healing properly. Reaching under the bed I retrieve the first aid kit, I cover her wounds in ointment and patch them up with bandages. Getting one of my shirts from my closet I slide it over her frame. Tucking her into her spot on the bed, I rub her small bump. She closes her eyes and falls asleep, before leaving I place a kiss on her forehead.

Walking downstairs I spot Andre and Niko.

"Where's Timothy?" I asked.
