2 Months Later

Basil

"Sygnómi! sygnómi!" (Sorry, sorry) The man yelled as I deliver punch after punch to his face. He was caught stealing from me, some of my products. I knew it was bad to think a drug addict wouldn't use the stuff they're selling, my drugs.

"Nomízeis óti boreís na me klépseis kai na min yposteís tis synépeies?" (You think you can steal from me and not suffer the consequences?) Andre comes into the torture room.

"Afentikó, it's Apollo." He hands me the phone, I grab a towel and wipe the blood from my hands.

"Leander, cut his hands off. Dispose his body in the ocean, let the sharks take care of him" Leander is my executioner, he's good at his job. Torturing enemies and getting rid of the evidence.

"Gladly afentikó." He has a wicked smile on his face as he approaches the thief, the thief knowing his fate screams Bloody Mary.

Exiting the room I put the phone to my ear.

"Apollo."

"Afentikó, I thought you should know that Layla just came out of a pharmacy with a pregnancy test."

"Ti? (what?), has she taken it yet?." I asked, Fuck, she could be pregnant with my baby right now and she's on the other side of the world. My enemies could get wind of her. There hasn't been a day that's gone by where she hasn't been on my mind. Now I believe it's time for me to make my move.

"Not yet."

"Keep watching her, find out if the test comes out negative or positive. Do anything to find the answer." I demanded.

"Yes afentikó."

I exit the warehouse, where we operate our business. There are shipping containers of drugs, weapons and counterfeit goods. I refuse to deal in human trafficking, I stopped that when I came into power. Andre follows behind me.

"What will you do about Layla?"

"I'm going to Florida and getting my woman. I'll bring her back kicking and screaming if I must." I smile when I think about her, just like her hair she has a fiery temper.

Later that day I get a call.

"Speak." I commanded.

"Afentikó, it took me awhile but she finally threw her trash out. I had to dig through trash to retrieve the test."

"And what does it say?" Impatience can be heard in my tone.

"It says she's pregnant." What he says stops my beating heart for a second. The vision of Layla round with my child fills my mind, bringing me a sense of peace I never felt before.

"Thank you, keep watch of her I'll be there by tomorrow."

"Yes afentikó." I hang up, I need to bring the ring and marriage contract I had drawn up two months ago. The ring I chose is a cypress diamond set in a platinum band, I know she'll look gorgeous with this ring on her finger.

"Andre!" I called out.

"Have my private jet readied, we're going to Florida."

Once the plane touches down on US soil, anticipation fills my gut. I arrived at a good time, it's late in the evening.

Layla will supposedly start school next week but she won't. I'm going to bring her back to Greece, firstly though I will make her sign this marriage contract.

Her home is nice and homey, she still lives with her parents in time that too will change. Knocking on the door a beautiful Layla opens the door.

"Basil?" She's shell shocked, her mouth gapes open as she stares at me.

"Hello feggari mou, aren't you going to invite us in?" Opening the door wide me and Andre step over the threshold. I make myself comfortable on the couch while Andre stands in the corner. I had to travel here with eight of my closest men since we're now on the Cubans territory. I don't plan on staying long enough to catch their attention, it's more of a precaution in case they spot me.

"What are you doing here?" She asked settling herself on the couch across from me.

"Is there anything you want to tell me?" Her eyes widen slightly but catches herself in time and manages to compose her expression.

"No."

"Don't lie to me, tell me what I already know." I commanded, gesturing towards her stomach. She clutches her belly.

"How did you know?"

"I have my ways, feggari mou." Pulling out the contract I slide it across from her.

"What is this?" She asked. Her brows furrowed as she reads the top.

"I can't sign this." She scoffed, crossing her arms across her chest pushing up her plump breasts. My eyes instantly goes to her tits, remembering how they looked naked bouncing while I pumped into her body. Seeing where my eyes went she uncrosses her arms, her cheeks turning a rosy pink.

"You will sign this."

"And what if I don't." She challenged.

"If you must know I'm a very powerful man, with many resources at my disposal." I arch my brow at her.

"Are you threatening to take my baby from me?" I would never deprive a child from their mother but she doesn't need to know that instead I just shrug my shoulders.

"Where's the fucking pen?" Pulling a pen from the pocket inside of my suit I hand it to her. She immediately signs the bottom not bothering to read the whole contract. Her loss is my gain, there will be no divorce for us, no sleeping in separate rooms and if she read it she would've known that she has to move across the world and live with me.

"There, is that it? Can you leave now?"

I pull out the ring, I slide the diamond ring onto her ring finger, the fit perfect. Her furious face immediately calms down as she admires the ring.

"It's beautiful." She whispered in awe.

She looks to my finger and sees I'm already wearing a ring, with her name engraved on the inside.

"You will be coming back with me."

"What?!, no I won't. I have school starting next week. What about my parents?" She waves her arms around in anger.

"You. Will. Be. Coming. Back. With. Me. Go pack what you need and tell your parents that you won't be back for awhile." Or ever, is what I wanted to say. With the heir next in line to be don growing inside her I wouldn't trust her to be anywhere else unless it's right besides me.

"I hate you." She said with enraged eyes as she marches up the stairs. I just chuckle lightly knowing she doesn't mean a word she said.

Sometime later she comes down the stairs with a suitcase.

"Andre, go put her stuff in the back." I bring my hand to the small of her back and help her get into the backseat.

"Why do you need this many people with you?" We're in a blacked out SUV with two of my men sitting in the front and six of them in the SUV behind us.

"It's for safety." I tell her, not elaborating on the real reason why I need this many people watching me. Being the don of the Greek mafia I have enemies all over the world, the only true allies I have are the Irish and Italians but they reside on the east coast. I'm in the Cubans territory right now, my hackles are up my hand resting on the gun at my side ready for anything in case something happens.

"Yeah, for safety alright." She doesn't believe me but in time I will tell her who I truly am.

We're five minutes from the airport when gunshots hit the vehicle.

"Fuck, the Cubans found us." Andre yelled. Opening his window he fires bullets at the vehicle shooting at us.

"Get down, don't come up." I ordered Layla, her eyes are filled with fear. She does as I say not talking back.

Pulling out my gun I shoot bullet after bullet at the Cubans until all their tires pop and their vehicle flips over, turning into a rolling ball of fire. I look behind us and see Hermès still driving the SUV.

"Any casualties on our end?" I asked Andre. He presses the earpiece on his ear.

"No afentikó, everyone's good. Just bullet holes on the body of the vehicles." My body saggs in relief, I pull Layla up to sit next to me.

"Are you ok?" I tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Uh huh, I'm good." Her eyes are glossy and wild, she turns her eyes to me.

"Who the fuck are you?" I sigh, I tuck her into my chest and breathe her in, her scent comforting me.

"I'll tell you later, relax feggari mou, I'll always protect you." She snuggles closer to my chest, sniffling.

I'll be hosting a small party at our home with only family and I'm also having her parents and her best friend Mackenzie fly over and stay with us for the week. They'll be arriving a day before her birthday, it's going to be her suprise birthday gift. Of course it won't be her only gift, I have a few more presents for her. I got her a platinum pendant necklace made with marquise diamonds, the earrings and the tennis bracelet to match. I had them shipped straight from that jewelry place all women go crazy over. I think it starts with a T, the name doesn't cross my mind. Altogether the cost was over thirty grand but I didn't bat an eye. Nothing is too expensive for my wife, my love, I got her a laptop too. The other day she was talking to me about starting classes online after the babies were born and I fully support her decision, with the laptop she can use it to do her schoolwork or anything she wants.Deciding to spend my day at home

Talk about boring, I'm going to see if I could apply for online classes after the twins are born. All of a sudden a smell from the kitchen makes my stomach clench in hunger, Mariah must be cooking.Waddling to the kitchen I see Mariah pull out some type of dish from the oven, smells like a roast of some kind."Mariah, Ti mageirévete?" (What are you cooking?) I know I butchered the pronunciation but she just smiles kindly. I've learned a little Greek the last couple weeks. Basil's a good teacher he's been teaching me the basics, enough to get me by."Ftiáchno kléftiko." (I'm making kleftiko.)"Ohhh, myrízei oraía." (Smells good.) The first time they took all our guns."They took all the drugs." I pound my fist on the table, seething with fury. Selling our goods to other mafia's is our biggest moneymaker, having these legitimate businesses on the side like my nightclubs help everything look good on paper. So that the government wouldn't get suspicious of where all this money is coming from. The nightclubs still make a pretty penny but not as much as the illegal stuff."Any of our men dead?" His deep sigh is an answer."Pablo and Ferdinand." Good men lost and from what. Whoever is doing this is attacking us when no one is watching. By the time
