(Under the Blood Moon, Albert learns what he’s become and the world will never be the same again)

Albert

The night was red.

Not just the moon, everything. The air shimmered with it, painting the forest in shades of scarlet and gold. My heart thudded as I stood on the edge of Still Waters territory, the soil trembling beneath my bare feet. The wind whispered through the trees, carrying scents I knew too well… home, warmth… Edward.

I had made it back.

Every muscle in my body screamed from the leap I had taken and the run through the forests to get here. I had leapt eighteen floors down, and still I had landed like a feather. I could still feel the burn of silver on my ankles, the raw marks pulsing faintly with power. They hurt, yes, but the pain no longer consumed me. It fueled me. My wolf, once silent and weak, now howled within me, fierce and alive and it was healing me.

I pressed a hand to my chest, breathing hard.

“You did it,” I whispered to myself. “We did it.”

The forest hummed

  • Our Little Secret: In Love With My Professor    144. When the Moon Split the Silence

AlbertThe night was alive: wild, pulsing, and raw. The Blood Moon hung heavy above me, its glow kissing my skin, feeding my wolf with a strength I hadn’t known before. Every breath I drew burned with power and pain all at once. I could feel Edward, his energy, his pulse, closing in like a storm. And then, there he was.He broke through the trees with eyes that were molten gold, his scent, warm pine and command, washing over me before I could even blink. For a heartbeat, we just stared. I didn’t know if I was dreaming, if my mind had conjured him out of desperation. But the way his chest heaved, the rawness in his gaze, it was real.“Albert,” he breathed, and in the next instant, I was in his arms.He crushed me against him, one arm at my waist, the other at the back of my head, holding me like I might disappear. His lips were on mine before I could speak, a frantic, broken kiss that tasted like salt and heat and everything I had missed. My hands trembled as I grabbed his shirt, clutc

EdwardI knew something was wrong the moment Albert told me to go back. The tremor in his voice hadn’t escaped me. It was brittle and forced like glass cracking beneath pressure. He had said that he was fine, that I didn’t need to worry, and though every instinct screamed at me to stay, I had forced myself to obey his wish.I returned to the pack with my wolves and gave the order for everyone who had gone out to come back to the house. It was supposed to be a night of vigilance, not a hunt. The Blood Moon had a way of stirring instincts best left asleep, and I couldn’t risk anyone losing control. Still… I couldn’t stop glancing toward the woods, my chest tight with unease.Something about Albert’s tone haunted me. It wasn’t anger this time. It was distance. Finality. As though he was saying goodbye.I tried to brush it off, but every time I attempted to focus on the pack, the same thought clawed through my head … He’s in trouble.By midnight, my composure cracked. I excused myself fro

  • Our Little Secret: In Love With My Professor    141. The Blood Moon’s Chosen

(The night he stopped running and began to rise.)AlbertI didn’t wait for Emon’s questions or explanations on why I should stay. The moment his eyes widened in shock, just a flicker, a heartbeat, I moved. One breath, and my body blurred into motion. The next, the world shattered. The wall exploded around me in a rain of dust and brick. I didn’t use the door; I didn’t even think of it. My instincts took over, something feral, ancient, and magnificent roaring to life within me.Behind me, I heard Emon’s startled cry, the old woman’s gasp, the sound of something heavy falling, but I didn’t stop. I dove straight into the open night. And gods, I was falling. The air lashed at my face, tore at my clothes, howled in my ears like an animal greeting me back to freedom. The drop should’ve killed me, eighteenth floor, at least. I could see the dark trees and the silver line of the distant river, the lights far below flickering like fireflies. But instead of crashing to my death… I rose.Power s

(Pain forges power, and chains cannot hold what’s already been reborn.)AlbertI had learned the rhythm of the place. When Emon came. When the guards outside switched shifts. When the light spilling through the curtains turned orange and told me it was evening again. For four days, I played the part of the broken captive; too weak to stand, too dazed to think. Emon never doubted it. He came often, smiling that strange, soft smile that never quite reached his eyes. He would bring food, water, sometimes medicine, and always words, endless words about how close we were to freedom and how he would finally have me to himself.I nodded, murmured, “thank you,” and watched. Every visit, I watched him. Every time he spoke, I listened for the truth hidden under the madness. And every hour that passed, I healed. The silver shackle on my ankle no longer burned as fiercely. The bite of its poison had dulled into a steady throb, and with each breath, I pushed my wolf’s strength through the pain. S

AlbertThe soup tasted like ashes in my mouth.I forced myself to swallow, pretending it was fine, pretending the tremor in my hands was because I was tired and in pain and not because I was afraid. My head no longer pounded like before, and the dizziness had faded, replaced by a hollow ache that stretched from my chest to the pit of my stomach. Every day since Emon brought me here, I had felt my body fight to recover. Slowly, painfully, piece by piece.I was getting stronger. But not strong enough. Not yet.“Drink this too,” Emon said, his voice soft, almost gentle, as he placed a glass of water beside me. His eyes, those warm brown eyes I once thought were my refuge, watched me too closely.I took the glass and drank obediently. “Thank you.”He smiled, relieved. “You’re being so good lately. I knew you would understand that I’m only doing this for you, Albert.”I forced a smile back. “I know.”It wasn’t true. I didn’t know anything anymore. The last two days blurred together, a rhy
