It took three days for Baras to disappear. I had left the pack house to annoy him to death when I found an empty cave.

The man-eating bear had run in the middle of the night to get away from me and the three days of hell according to him.

I couldn’t help the smile on my face as I ran back to the pack house.

For the next couple of weeks, I forced myself to go slow. I needed full health for my next plan.

It wasn’t even noon yet when Cassar came strolling through the apartments front door. Perfectly tousled hair, dark scruff against his jaw, and a smirk on his lips.

It was actually an awkward moment since I was right in the middle of going through all the classified documents he kept in a locked drawer beside his desk.

He raised a brow and smirked, catching me red handed.

I smiled innocently as I causally stood up, folding pages and putting them back inside.

“I just thought I would be helpful by reorganizing.” I batted my eyelashes.
