Teddy was bigger and younger then her, but he was still new. They were both trained fighters, but Teddy was not as experienced. His movements weren’t sure. His attacks were not powerful enough. The older wolf used that to her advantage.

I lunged my broken body forward, reaching for a piece of metal. It was jagged, thin and long. I didn’t know what part of the car it came from, but it would do.

It was the only source of weapon I could find on such short notice. I cursed myself for not grabbing my gun earlier. I never learned.

I almost cried in pain as I rolled to my hurt shoulder. Freeing my good arm, I took aim.

The female pushed Teddy off of her. She scratched at his underbelly. Fur flew all over the place as they wrestled.

“Teddy, down.” I screamed at him.

In one fluid motion he dropped to the ground. The female was shocked as I sent the metal flying towards her rib cage.

This time, it didn’t go through the target. The piece of metal lodged itself between two of her ribs.

She howled
