STORIES OF ALMA

The fire glowed brightly under the full moon shinning down, the soft voices of children hushing one another trying to hear the old woman who looked like she would die at any moment.

Alma is the descent of the first “Protectors”, she is a powerful witch and a seer who has aided and helped win so many wars against the forces of evil.

Alma is a living legend, it is said she had an encounter with the moon goddess Selene. She now resides in the most quiet and smallest pack, known as the Silver Pack.

She has been through all kinds of mess and situations, she just wants to spend her last days with these little ones, the future as she calls them.

Furthermore, she chose the Silver Pack as her final resting place when she was asked by “THE GREAT COUNCIL” if she wanted any anything because of her abilities helped end the war.

Alma picking the Silver Pack as her resting place came as a shock, but people knew that she must have had a reason, after all, she is the greatest witch to ever live since the beginning of time.

Even the great council could not change her mind, they just let her watching her to find the reason she went to the smallest pack.

Alma stared at the children, trying to read their future, she saw them, but there was one she was unable to read and that was the young girl who was staring at her with her siren eyes.

Alma had never experienced this, though the young girl stared at Alma with excitement and curiously, Alma could also see that the same eyes had two meaning.

Her eyes were clearly screaming, “read my future, I dare you.”

Alma smiled at the young girl, she would rather not show that she feared the seven-year-old.

“Alma, did you ever see the protectors?” The young girl asked as smiled brightly at her.

“Yes, and I'll tell you the story” Alma said as she smiled at the girl.

“The protectors are the chosen ones of the Sovereigns. They are the strongest, fastest and most powerful of each race,” Alma wheezed out, trying to suppress a cough.

Oh boy, she has gone so weak.

“The werewolves have the Lycan as their protector, the Sirens have Asa as their protector, the Elfs have Numia as their protectors and the Witches have Kahlessi as their protector.” Alma said softly.

“Alma, tell them….tell them you are "a young boy said excitedly

“I was the former Kahlessi of the witch tribe” Alma said with pride.

The children stared at Alma with adoration and admiration on how a great person she was and still is.

“The great protectors guide and protect each race, they come together to help the order of peace and protection. The last war happened about 500 years ago,” Alma said as she looked at the future, smiling brightly at her.

“The moon was blood-red, screams, and the sound of flesh tearing could be heard and then the woman in white came and saved us all, she healed the injured completely and raised our dead back….”

“That's a lie Alma, my father told me if someone dies the person is forever gone to the house of the moon to become a star” A young boy said

“Young Alpha, your father is correct. The moon goddess came to us, she didn't want the brave warriors to die, so she raised them back to life.” Alma said to him.

Kyle was taken aback by the title Alma used to address him.

“Alma, I am only 10 years old, and I have an elder brother, how can you call me Alpha. “ Kyle said to Alma in a hush voice, trying to protect her because what she had said would be considered treason.

“Young Alpha, you would be one of the wisest in your generation, but a mistake would cost you from advancing further.” Alma said to the young boy, who was already shaking at the prediction.

It is believed that Alma can talk to the sovereigns and see into one's future, so Alma cannot talk to a person without seeing their future.

“Alma, what about me.” A young boy said.

“You would become the next Beta, young one,” Alma said to a boy.

“Alma, how is it that runny nose Raymond would become the Beta, our pack is doomed "A young girl said as everyone laughed and Raymond started crying

“Persephone, that's not a nice thing to say to your mate, is it?” Alma questioned as everyone now laughed at Persephone.

“Alma, the woman who saved the warriors, is she Selene?” The young girl who strikes fear in Alma's heart asked softly.

“I believe so because after the war she vanished without a trace, even king Triton couldn't get a hold of her scent” Alma said, making the other children silent.

Alma continued to predict other children's futures as they either cried or laughed.

Alma stared at the young girl under the moonlight who was thinking deeply.

“Young Seris, what are you thinking of ?” Alma asked the young girl.

“The moon goddess and the protectors and our king Triton.” Seris said.

“Why are you thinking about them?” Alma asked Seris who looked at Alma gleefully.

"They are just cool, but Alma, why didn't you tell me about my future.” Seris said to Alma disappointed.

Alma looked around, and the children were already paying attention again to the conversation.

Alma didn't want the other children to hear what she was about to tell Seris so she held Seris tiny hands

"Children go inside now" Alma said to the children, who immediately scurried off to their various houses.

If Alma says go inside, do it or the monster would catch you, is what they tell children who like running around.

"Seris, the truth is that I cannot read your future, I can't see anything." Alma said, disappointed at herself.

Never has Alma ever questioned her existence once, and here she was doing it.

“Can't you try?” Seris said to Alma, hoping Alma can do something, if the most powerful can't read her future who, then would be able to do it.

Alma then held her head and chanted some spells, the bright moon disappeared and everyone around started feeling chills.

Alma did this for about 2 minutes as she gasped and fell to her knees, speaking the ancient witch language.

Alma screamed, the scream had a piercing impact on everyone, cracking the windows and making the wolves nearby bleed.

"Seris what is this cruel fate you have" Alma screamed in agony.

"Is my fate that cruel, Alma" Seris cried out.

Seris was frightened, she knew Alma had powers, but she didn't know it was to this extent.

Alma stood up as she bowed again at Seris feet

"Alma…." Seris muttered shakily.

"Don't be scared dear sacred one, the mother of creation, who has come to save us from the evil lurking, mother Selene the foundation......" Alma's words were interrupted as another power surge burst, but this time it was from Seris.

"I seal this power on my lifeline, danger looms, ........ During the hour of the blood moon this seal would break and he who is to protect you may you save........." Alma continued chanting.

The chaos had caused the elders to wake up and are trying to get to Alma and Seris but a barrier was stopping them.

They couldn't hear the words the old witch was saying, just the fact she was on her knees In front of the seven-year-old.

"Seris the boy whose name is K.......would protect and help you, he would be the strongest one to help you, you don't have to worry. " Alma said as she chanted another spell as it caused another surge.

Everyone around flew about 5 meters away from them at the impact of the spell.

Everything came to a halt as the elders of the pack rushed to the now lifeless Alma and a young girl who was unconscious.
