Chapter Six

Sebastian sat quietly, yet angrily in an arm chair while me and Garret sorted everything out. He had finished his hissy fit knowing it would do him no good. Garret had me sign a few papers, some wavers basically stating that if I got killed by a cow or got ran over by a tractor or something out there they wouldn't pay for my funeral. Greedy bastards.

But loaded ones, though.

Anyway, I began to realize how crazy and idiotic this whole plan sounded. I wanted to tell Garret that there was no curing his son, that he needed a good dose of Jesus, maybe an STD test as well, but frankly I didnt find it appropriate at the moment.

"I can't thank you enough for doing this, Leslie. You truly are a life saver." I smiled at Garret as I signed the papers he set down.

"I'm happy to help, anything for this company."

"Anything?" Sebastian laughed.

"Shut..up!" Garret was fumming now. I couldn't understand how Garret hasn't completely lost his shit, yet. If I was Garret I would have ran out of the office screaming already.

I ignored his comment and signed the last paper.

"That's it. So when do we head out?" I asked.

"Two days. Forget about what I said in the elevator about Sebastian handling the press Ill have Darcy help out with David, and of course my people will be assisting you as well-Lucinda!"

Within a couple of seconds, a preppy young blonde ran into the room, barely able to keep her balance in her six inch stilettos and constricting pencil skirt.

"Yes, Mr. Harrison?" She replied.

" Cancel everything you're currently doing. I need you to do me a favor-"

Lucinda smiled hopefully, assuming she was desperately needed.

"Terrence isnt here and you're always close."

Her smile suddenly faded.

"Call Pilot Flemmings and tell him I need a jet ready to fly by thursday night."

"Got it, sir."

"Thursday night!"

Lucinda flinched at Garret's overpowering voice. When she composed herself she headed for the door, but not before sneaking a look at Sebastian who was eying her up and down, smirking. She blushed and almost slammed into the glass door.

"Sebastian, get out." Garret demanded.

"Fine by me, I'm gonna go get lunc-"

"No way in hell. You brought the paparazzi here, you're not bringing them inside. Lucinda, go down and get Sebastian a damn sandwich."

"Yes, sir." She reached for the door handle but Sebastian beat her to it.

"I've got it, beautiful." He said gently, looking down at the swooning blonde. As he let her walk ahead, me and Garret watched them both walk down the hallway, and at Sebastian whistling under his breath at Lucinda's ass.

Garret rubbed his temples, something he has done many times in the last few hours.

"You see how much stress he puts upon me? I'm just glad something will finally change."

I smiled. I didn't know what else to say. If I said what was on my mind I would get the infamous Garret chew-down that everyone hates.

Only one person finds it ammusing.

"I forgot to apologize for, for putting this task on your shoulders. This doesn't fall under your profession and I don't want you to feel obliga-"

"No obligation, sir. It is always important for me to look out for Harrison inc's. best interest."

He smiled faintly.

"I know you're technically not my publicist for the next few months, but I need you to cancel everything for today. I need sometime to think." I nodded and headed for the door. I exited and headed down the hallway, looking at Garret pick up the phone and hesitantly dial a number.

When I made it into the lobby, Sebastian was on his phone, pacing the hallway on the other side of the floor. I decided not to make eye contact for it would result in him making my head hurt with a stupid remark about what was going on and how it's suddenly my fault.

I entered my office to find Darcy hard at work. A reliable girl she was. Smart and loyal, the best assistant I could ask for. There was also occasions when we would talk as if we were best friends; gossiping about employees, dishing our favorite looking men co-workers and such.

How professional we are.

"Darcy, I have a lot to tell you, and I'm still a little iffy on the details, so hear me out."

She stopped typing and looked up at me with a concerned expression. I plopped down into a chair before I spoke.

"...Frankly, Garret wants me...to...help Sebastian out for the next few months since he is taking Garret's place as CEO. His reckless and disgusting behavior isn't something we want in the head chair, you know?" Darcy nodded.

"So, Garret has decided it would be best for him to step away from the lime light. To go back to live with his mom-"

"In Tennessee?"

"Yup."

"So that means that..you're..."

"Yup. Three months with him and his family. I didn't want to do it but this company can't have a boss like Sebastian is currently and...the money was just too good to pass up. Anyway, this means that you will take my role as publisist for the next three months."

Darcy's brown eyes were as big as marbles at my comment. I could see how hard she tried to contain her excitement.

"Don't you worry, Miss King. I promise I will take care of everything."

"You don't need to make any promises. I already have faith in you. It's a big responsibility, Darcy."

"I know, I'm ready."

"Good, now-" Before I could finish my sentence my attention was focused on Sebastian, who was now walking towards the elevator. My eyes widened in horror and anger.

"Ready for your first official task, Darcy?" I asked.

She nodded, and waited attentively for me to speak again. I opened my office door. "Cancel all of Mr. Harrison's calender events today. I'll be back, I have a problem to fix."

I closed the door and marched my way over to the evelator Sebastian was stepping into.
