PITD 32: Lock and Key

Thea was late.

As usual. It didn’t surprise Leigh anymore that her best friend had the innate ability to be late at all times. She was supposed to be here since two hours ago, so they could settle in, gist and have girl talk before they went to Creamys for the After Finals Celebration as Willis had later termed it when he had called her with the final details. Carol was due to arrive any minute now to drive them to the ice cream shop and Thea was still nowhere in sight. What was worse? She wasn’t even picking up her calls not that picking up would do any good anyway but it would give Leigh the satisfaction of yelling at her.

Finally, a cab pulled to the curb and a heavily loaded Thea stepped out. With the bags she carried, one would think she was relocating out of the country.
