Chapter thirty

Emily's POV

After class,I go to the parking lot to find Tyler already waiting for me. I pull the door open and climb in, joining him in the car and then he starts the engine, reversing the vehicle out of the parking lot.

We spend the drive in a comfortable silence and I find myself looking out the window awkwardly from time to time. When we get home he orders lunch for the both of us and later that evening he asks me to accompany him for a stroll. Unlike him.

He takes me to an ice cream parlor and we stand on cue waiting for our turn to order as there are a few other customers before us. I place my order for roasted almond ice cream with chocolate chips while Tyler goes for plain vanilla and then pays the bills despite my refusal to pay.

"I owe you 3 bucks for that" I tell him, not wanting to have him spend his money on me and he rolls his eyes as he leads me out of the parlor and we walk down to the park close by.
