Chapter 8 - Stares

Jake blinked his eyes a few times, looking at her in a daze. Emma started feeling awkward because of his intense gaze as he wasn’t saying anything just staring at her.

"Nice to meet you, Emma Miller!" He said in a husky tone.

The smirk on his lips didn’t go unnoticed by Emma!

"Follow me, sir. I will take you to the auditorium!" Emma said and started walking a little too fast.

Jake started following her thinking about what he would do with her! They soon reached the auditorium and Emma gestured for him to enter!

He walked inside and everyone started clapping. Girls started ogling him! After all, that's not a sight that they see every day.

The function started and everyone sat down in their respective seats. Emma wanted to hide somewhere as her seat was in the front and Jake kept looking at her, ignoring everyone around him!

Why is he looking at me like that? Pervert! But why am I having butterflies in my stomach because of his stare? Emma thought avoiding looking at him!

She can notice the smirk which hasn’t left his lips yet! After some time, Emma noticed Jake telling something to the Principal while his eyes were still on her!

What's wrong with him? Creep! Emma thought.

After two hours of uncomfortableness, the function finally ended! Emma sighed a relief, watching Jake going out of the Auditorium!

After a few minutes, Amelia came rushing to her!

"Why are you looking so tense?" Amelia asked looking at her not-so-happy face!

"Nothing!" Emma said.

"Did you notice something? Jake Anderson was constantly looking at you! Everyone saw that!" Amelia said giggling.

"So what? Every boy was looking at me!" Emma said trying to change the topic.

"Of course, they would look at you! It's rare to see you dressed like a girl. Moreover, Jake Anderson is not like others! He is Jake Anderson! America’s second top fashion designer! He was staring at you, maybe he likes you!" Amelia said giggling!

"You are not feeling jealous?" Emma asked, raising her eyebrows.

"No, dumbo! Why would I? I have a crush on him, I don’t love him! Moreover, I am only gonna love my husband!" Amelia said with a peaceful smile.

Suddenly a peon came towards them gaining their attention!

"Principal is calling you!" The peon informed Emma and went away!

"Now what did you do?" Amelia asked, getting worried.

"Nothing!" Emma said as she also got worried!

"Madam, you called me?" Emma asked with a frightened face.

"Yes, come inside!" The principal said, gesturing for her to come inside.

She slowly walked to her desk, her heart was thumping loudly!

"Emma, Mr Anderson wants to talk to you!" She said and Emma's heart started beating faster!

"Why?" She whispered.

"His father's company is starting an internship and as always they would take interns from our college! So I selected some names for the internship and it has your name too! But Mr Anderson wants to talk to you about something! Go to the Guest's room, you can meet him there!" She said and dismissed her!

Emma came out of the Principal room with a tense face.

Why does that pervert want to talk to me? Emma thought and walked towards the guest room.

After reaching the door, she stopped not wanting to enter! She wanted to run away as fast as she could!

But she stopped herself as she had no choice but to meet him! She peeked her head inside first and saw him sitting on the couch comfortably using his phone!

I am having a feeling in my gut that something wrong is going to happen. God, do protect me and I promise I won't do any more sins, Emma thought and prayed mentally!

She finally walked inside and Jake heard her footsteps as he looked up from his mobile. Jake smiled at her warmly and her half tension went away looking at his charming smile.

Focus, her mind screamed!

"Sir, you wanted to talk to me?" Emma asked in a low voice but he heard it!

"Yes, Ms Miller!" Jake said and his lips curved into a tiny smirk.

"Well, I guess principal madam has told you about the internship! She told me you are one of the top students in the college! So I thought to keep you in the first position in the internship. So can I have your phone number to let you know further about the internship?" Jake asked and Emma stood like a statue!

Weird! He can have my details and number from the office, why he is asking me directly? Emma thought getting suspicious!

"Sir, you can have it from the office as they have every detail about the students!" Emma informed him.

"Oh, they did give me your number. I tried to call you but my number is showing blocked!" Jake said, in an innocent thinking manner.

"It's impossible! Give me your number, I will try!" Emma said not thinking twice.

Jake gave her his number and Emma typed his number on the dial pad!

Why does this number seem familiar? Emma thought looking at the number!

She tapped the call button but her command declined and she got an earth-shattering shock as she looked at her phone screen! Her screen flashed, 'You blocked this number, tap to unblock it.'

WTF, as far as I know, in my entire life, I only blocked one number and that is that Uncle's number who was giving me a lecture! And if I am not wrong, it’s that number. This isn’t happening! Emma thought with horror!

Close your eyes, it’s just a dream! Soon you will wake up and see that it’s nothing but a dream, Emma thought smiling and closing her eyes!

Jake was looking at her with an amused smile!

"Ms Miller, what happened?" Jake asked and she jumped on her spot opening her eyes!

Fuck! It's not a dream! That means the stranger is none other than him! God, you must be kidding me! Why me? I wanna die! I don’t want to live this embarrassing moment! That day I talked to him so rudely! And those messages! Shit, I am doomed! Emma thought and started crying in her mind.

"What happened?" Jake asked again with his famous smirk.

This jerk! It means, he knew from the start that it was me! Why is this drama? Why doesn’t he start scolding me? Emma thought and cursed him a little.

Jake got up from the couch and walked towards her and she backed away a little!

"So it was you, little girl!" Jake said in a husky tone which made her shiver a little.

Emma, stop your dirty thoughts! Emma scold herself as their proximity was affecting her!
